I'd offer a 3rd or 4th, but if it all goes down he's going somewhere else and yinz all know it. Probably pittsburgh west or now pittsburgh south.

He wanted to play for his home town team and he did that. The unfortunate reality that he now faces is that when teams overpay for talent things like the current Saints fire sale happen. Can't say I would blame the guy for wanting his money or a release to go somewhere where their is a little more job security. Wallace is finding this out in Miami, Suh might find it out really quick as well. Nothing like bad deals to drag a team down.

That would be pretty sweet if he lands back here.

hell I know why he left, and don't blame him for his current stance at all. just don't see him coming back either way but now I'm curious as to if we offered the right money had he gone to begin with?

maybe the Experiment is over and he will come back. Can never blame a guy for playing for his home team. But if that isn't enough, then come on home. This recent guarantee trend is gonna hammer football unlike we've ever seen. Free agency, rule changes, etc...

It was well-known that he wanted to go to New Orleans (his home team). It's not working out like he envisioned though. I wouldn't mind seeing him back

For us it would be ...

    2015) $2,550,000

    2016) $5,000,000

    2017) $5,500,000

With no penalty for cutting him at any point.

If the "no penalty" clause is true it's almost a no brainier. $2.5 million, see how he performs...if he sucks it up, peace out...if he's pro bowl caliber, he's a bargain

We are on the books for Cortez Allen for a lot of money. This should be who we are talking about.
    Very interesting.

not so sure I want these retreads back. if it was DL's system still maybe, but I have higher hopes for butler and what he hopefully does with our defense. I want his players not dicks old ones. KL didn't do much in NO.

Usually I don't watch former Steelers when they leave for more dough or in Lewis's case playing in his hometown.
To say he is not that good someone wasn't watching. He rotted here until his last season and went to Orleans and was above solid. A 5th and bring him back. He would be the #1 and play like it. They were interested in Revis so bringing Lewis back seems like sense to me.
Does anyone really have the confidence that Cortez Allen is going to get his head on straight and make a 360? I don't...

his last season here was a good one. no picks though. we also had one heck of a pass rush at that time. he had 71 tackles and 23 passes defended. the year before he had 1 start with 30 some tackles. again a lot better pass rush. he went to NO and had 47 tackles 11 passes defended and 4 picks. last year he went down to 40 tackles 9 passes defended and 2 picks. solid but a dip from the best season he had here overall. yes les pass rush in NO but we don't have that here either. he had 100 and some tackles here in two years (17) starts and there he had 87 tackles in two years ( 30+ starts). so yes he didn't fare as well when he left here. again DL is gone too. different defense he's returning to. would he be an upgrade here, probably but I doubt he repeats the year he had before he left.

:lolol: yes, please don't do a 360, Tez!

Cortez after doing a 360: "Crap, I'm back where I started".

i would love to have lewis back... I recall the time when larry foote returned to us after leaving for Detroit... He clearly stated that the grass wasn't greener, and sited our superior locker room and overall atmosphere... I also recall all of the free agents that we lost over the yrs., that just couldn't produce on their new teams the way they did with us.... it's the same reason that the mike wallaces of the world are reported to want to return to us....
Not saying that lewis didn't produce with the saints because he did, but i'm sure after watching the the saints trade jimmy graham, and the overall defensive performance of the team, that he must be thinking about the future

Isn't Keenan Lewis a University of Oregon guy? I was wondering if he was putting out his message hoping that his former coach Chip Kelly would come to the rescue and figure out a trade scenario that would bring him to Philly.
