Ike really loves the franchise. If you listen to that interview he makes it abundantly clear how much he loves the Rooney's and how much they love him.

How many players in this league have the kind of love and respect for their organization like he does? He's probably in the top 1% in that regard.

We've been very fortunate with the secondary the past few years. Taylor, Polamalu, Clark, and Gay are some very high character guys. I'm glad they represent the black and gold.

Nothing but love for the guy. Outstanding career for a 4th round pick. He's tough too. How many people on earth can break their damn arm and not even freak out when it happens. He was just like "It's busted" and he didn't even have any drama. He was right back on the sidelines within minutes, or so it seemed. The piece I saw on his diet was pretty hilarious. He goes out to a high end eatery every night and eats the left overs for lunch, every day.

Yeah and it's refreshing to see that too because most athletes today are entitled punks that just think they deserve every dollar in their owner's pocket. I hate to say it but I loved Alen Fanneca but he took a completely different approach to his exit from Pittsburgh than Ike is doing. I bet Ike winds up with some longterm job with the team when it's all said and done. I think Troy will just ride off in to the sunset and won't have a very visible presence when his career is over. I think Keisel will wind up doing some kind of ministerial work.

He's going to the hills of Wyoming to do some hunting and fishing, lol!

I worked with a carpenter who was friends with Keisel from their town of Greybull, Wy.

Ike did us a damn good job over the years. The only thing missing from his resume are the dropped picks. That guy would've been off the charts had he caught every pass that bounced out of his hands. His time is done for sure, but he's for sure more than earned his contracts over the years.

He surely was/is tough as nails. I got a little emotional watching how the other Steeler players acted when he broke his arm and he just walked off holding it. And then Tomlin showing him some love by kissing him on the forehead when he came off the field.

Wish him the best, he was also a great person on and off the field. If he could of been able to catch and play the ball, we would be talking about him as one of the great CB's of all time. :applaud::applaud::applaud:

Ike's been a great representative of the B&G. I truly believe he left it all out on the field every single game. He drove us all crazy at times with his poor ball skills and teflon hands, but his overall athletic ability and competitive nature made him a tough matchup with even the best receivers. He wasn't afraid to lay a lick on you either which is something I always liked about the guy. Good luck, Ike. You did the Steelers proud.

And every time We hear the complaints about holding on to players a little too long, we should remember Ike and other players like him. We may keep them a little past their primes, but class acts are hard to come by in today's NFL.

One of my favorite players. Had the opportunity to meet him after a game on my birthday several years ago. He for sure is a class act. Would never know he is a super star while talking with him. Wish he could stay with the organization in some capacity.

My favorite memory of Ike (I think) was in the 2004 season.... we had back to back games against New England and Philly (Terrell Owens)..... Ike performed like a superstar in those games. Kind of hard to judge a guy on only his recent performances..... he's been doing this for a long long time for a CB. Might not have the flash of Deion, but he's been solid for us for many years. Glad to have him as a Steeler, and hoping he can ride off into the sunset.

Not a huge shocker here...I think he even said this shortly after the season. Ike never got the respect he deserved...and will ALWAYS be a Steeler, great guy, player and teammate. Thanks for everything Ike!

I've not been a big fan of Ike in recent years, but I do recognize some of the stuff he did previously. And I have nothing but respect for his love for the Black & Gold.

Under rated even by our own fan base. I would like to see him hang another year.

No way. I appreciate what the respect Ike has for the organization and everyone knows he bleeds black and gold, but Ike was done at least a year ago. Time for him to go.
