Anyone catch his press conference? I hope the media was wearing boots, because it was getting deep in there. They sent him out there because he is so adept at lying to people's faces. Two days ago he knew nothing, today he's Stephen Hawking.

He exonerated himself (in public while talking about balls no less). Glad to know he doesn't think he did it even though he didn't explain how he knows it wasn't intentional and why it didn't happen to the Colts' footballs. He should have just gone full Bart Simpson - I didn't do it. Nobody saw me do it. you can't prove a thing.

I read the article but only watched about 5 minutes of the press conference. Of course the Chowdaheads will eat this up, but his explanation still doesn't make sense. His theory that ball surface preparation can lead to a deflation and explains the loss of air can be destroyed by simply asking "Then why were the Patriots 12 back up balls tested at halftime found to be in compliance?" Whoopsie.

Further it has been stated by this Boston local report that "Gronking" the ball won't alter air pressure, but repeatedly falling on the ball will cause some PSI loss. It seems to me that ball preparation would be more along the lines of "Gronking" than a bunch of fat asses repeatedly falling on it.

Surely the Chowdaheads are going to seize upon using the ball and being tackled on it as an explanation, but that is a fail too since ALL 12 balls were under the minimum threshold. The Patriots ran a total of 41 offensive plays in the first half (not counting special teams plays...different ball). That means that if each ball were used an equal number of times, then each ball would have been used for either 3 or 4 plays....and thats counting incomplete passes. Subtract out TBs 9 incomplete passes of the first half and you have 32 plays where someone was tackled meaning that each ball was used on average of less than 3 plays.
