Perhaps, but the RT for Dallas also had multiple holdings and a hands to the face on that drive, with no calls. Had the same hold as Beachum on the Archer TD, pulling the DT down by his arm.

 

Yeah I don't understand that one. I thought it was automatic PI if the defender doesn't look for the ball? Face guarding I think they used to call it?

There's holding on every play. Most of the time it's missed.

 

It's all but automatic, especially if there's contact. That was a really terrible decision to pick up the flag

I tell ya what, if i was the coach of Det i would get ready to be fined Heavy bcause i would go off on the refs, and GOODELL.. if the coach doesnt say anything post game .. he is just gutless. IMO

Refs are only human but I have been a ref for football and baseball. I have known Refs to try and "make up" for missed calls and it only ruins the game. When millions of dollars are on the line some of these "judgement call" penalties ought to be reviewable by replay. 1 bad call can change the flow and outcome of the game as much as a turnover.

 

I saw on espn that the reason why it was picked up, they called it Face guarding , and that it was not illegal.... if this is true( which it isnt) i have seen alot of PI calls that should have been reversed because of face guarding, and wasnt
