THe majority of their improvement is because of Munchak. We can keep the offense and the playbook and use a new coordinator. We've done so for years.

The only thing he has done? go look at the overall offense, ranked #2 in the league, thats more than all he has done

Yeah an average OC who won with the best D, Haley is winning with hardly any D, and for the record we play better against the better teams. Which means that falls on Tomlin for not getting the players prepared for the creampuff teams. The plays were there, it was the players heads that were missing.

You don't think Munch has anything do to with the health of the line? You don't think guys were playing fundamentally wrong putting themselves at greater risk? You don't think he has anything to do with the improvement of players across the line?

You're pretty alone on that because every show I have watched has heaped a ton of praise on Munch and has sung his hiring as the single biggest move in the off season.

By the way, Bell has awesome vision and patience but when he finally gets a hole to hit, where do you think that hole comes from? Our guys just dont fall down on the ground waiting for the whistle to blow, they are finishing their blocks.

Bell has had 7 games this year averaging under 4 ypc. Considering he's probably the most talented RB in the league, that's beyond unacceptable.

The improvement we've seen in the running game is more about a healthy Oline, an improving Decastro and a much improved Bell. It's far less to do with Munchak. Our running game still needs a lot more improvement. We can't run consistently, and consistency is what wins championships. With the weapons we have, there's no reason our running game shouldn't be a lot better. 7 games with an average under 4 is not acceptable.

I posted this in the other thread and you chose to ignore it so I'll do it again. Look at the Defenses Arians faced vs what Haley has faced. Haley has had a creampuff schedule. In that creampuff schedule Haley's offense has failed to score more than 20 points 6 freaking times. It's a whole lot easier to put up big numbers when you face defenses ranked 32,31,30,29...

One major problem with your playing down to the competition assessment. It isn't just a Tomlin thing. It happened under Cowher as well. Which points to Steelers fans overestimating the abilities of their team and underestimating the opponents. Not some stupid notion that the coach didn't have them prepared.

Keep living with your head stuck in the sand. Or should I say snow? Now go make up some more crap so we can bust you again. It's what you're good at. Oh wait, if you were good at it you wouldn't get caught.

That's too simple of a comparison though. Comparing two coaches is almost impossible unless you actually watch all the games and see the results with your own eyes. Even then, everyone is biased and interprets things differently.

Arians likely benefited more from better field position, more turnovers and more defensive points. Haley is benefiting from a softer schedule. Lets be real here though, Arians also had some cream puff defences some years. It wasn't always tough defences. Then you also need to look at why we didn't score more. Was it the playcalling, did Ben struggle, was it injuries to starting players, etc. It's too simple and flawed to just look at the yards gained or points scored and put it all on the OC or head coach.

When you're consistently making the playoffs your schedule is inherently tougher than when you're struggling to be 500. When we lost Ben to suspension Arians' offense still went 3-1. Haley doesn't have Ben due to injury we go 1-3(?).

Arians has won a superbowl, coy, and has a very good record. While haley struggled to maintain a 500 record, get's fired for being an ass, and is sued multiple times. Everywhere Arians has gone he's won.

I live in a rural area with a very large driveway. I had someone come plow my driveway for $25 each time he did it. This has always been cheap in previous years. Last year I spent a small fortune, so this year we decided to buy a good snowblower. I haven't needed to use it once. figures.

Such a flawed way of looking at things. You're basically saying Arians was 100% responsible for our team going 3-1 without Ben. Considering the defences we had for most of Arians years, i would expect him to be well over 500

yep no snow here , suppose to snow today then turn into freezing rain, then just rain. Loving it so far, I look after 15 driveways and only had to go out once this year, back in dec. I have everybody under contract so I make money when it doesn't snow

Due to a tougher schedule Arians had a harder path. Haley has more weapons on offense and an easier schedule. He should be doing more against lesser competition. Steeler fans point to HAley's lone winning season in KC and say see how great he was. While ignoring the fact they played 2 teams with a winning record. That magical team got blown out in the playoffs and their qb threw for 70 yards. The offensive genius that is Haley had a qb that threw for 70 yards in a game. 70 freaking yards.

He also had a QB who isn't a starter in the NFL. When your QB is garbage, your team typically will be as well.

But I really don't care one bit about what Haley did in the past, I care about what he's doing on our team, and we're playing well offensively. Still inconsistent, but we've been inconsistent since before Haley came to town, so I have a hard time pinning that on him.

So now we're saying a team that's failed to put up 20 points against the dregs of the league 6 times is playing well offensively.

Dont just pick and choose what suits you, read the whole thing. Where do you think the hole comes from? Haley cuts loose with a powerful fart from the sideline to blow open a hole?

For the most part, yes, although inconsistent. When you don't play well 6 times out of 16, that doesn't take away from the 10 times that you do. We need to be better, I've said that all along, but I'm not going to completely dismiss the games we do play well

Hmmm.... interesting debate. Ok, not really. I think the bottom line is that the combination of Haley and Munchak has been great for our offense. The numbers from this season are pretty impressive. The only problem has been a series of inexplicable funks against pedestrian defenses, but that's correctable (and hasn't happened in over a month). We need to keep both guys if possible.

Arians took over with better players at that time and with the D at it's peak. Do the BA lovers only look at the offense on this board, it's Defense that wins. Seattle just crushed the #'1 offense last season.

Indy got blown out too with better players. 24-9

That was the main part about the post, on one page you're saying Bell gets plenty of holes to hit, now on this page you're saying when he FINALLY gets a hole to hit. ( as in when the OL Finally does their job) I'm not twisting anything around
