I'm fine with him being upset and wanting to play, but you don't walk off and leave your teammates behind. It's a very bad look. And apparently he was rubbing people the wrong way even before now.

I like him as a RB. I always have. But a poor attitude can poison an entire locker room.

Too bad if the coaches didn't play him, he's not bigger than the team and you don't leave the field early, period. At what point should they have used Blount? Did Bell look like he needed a breather? Kudos for Tomlin and Haley for sticking with the hot hand, Bell won us that game.

And for a teammate to say they should leave Blount in Nashville, this obviously goes deeper than this game.

As a coach myself, team always comes first and foremost. You can't afford to have selfish individuals to the point it hurts the team. What happens if Bell get hurts while Blount is pouting in the locker room? Also it sounds like this is not the first offense in Pittsburgh in terms of work ethic. The NFL is a pretty tight group in terms of players and if players are asking him to go that speaks volumes.

Blount has proven to be a guy with good talent but not one you can count on when the chips are down. I want a guy who wants to play all 60 minutes and does his best to prepare like they will get all 60 minutes but also understands his role. No way you take Bell out last night. The way he was running and his vision etc. he made more than he should have gotten several times.

Blount has a history of trouble following him. He had a chance and blew it, in my opinion.

As good as Bell was doing he was taking some big hits, they could've given him a few breaks during the long drives, this is why you have a 1 , 2 punch, even if Blount sucked it was still giving Bell a rest.

Don't know how or why you would take a player off the field when "Beastmode" is engaged. It's not like we were up by 2 scores. The team was in "had to have it" mode and we needed our best players out there. But there were opportunities earlier in the game where Blount could have been used.

I can only assume with this situation that there is more than we know. In the Jets game they stopped having him back for Kickoffs, and he wasn't on that team again this week. And I believe he only played one snap last night. Generally speaking, your playing time doesn't get cut that much unless you are just stinking up the joint. Granted, he wasn't great in the Jets game, but who was. I'm saying something went on behind closed doors. It wouldn't surprise me if they cut him. But I don't know who to replace him with.

:this!: This, Bell could of used a breather for a few plays near the end. He was taking some hard shots.

This. When every inch mattered and every 1st down was critical, why the heck would you take Bell out??? How do you know Blount wouldn't go 10 yards in the other direction again, complete drive and momentum killer.

    Don't mess with whats working.

I really am hoping this is being a little blown out proportion. I think we still have a great need for a " motivated" Blount. Not the selfish one. This is where I think Tomlin can and will be at his best in getting to players. He might be as good at getting through to players as he is bad at clock management , thats saying something. Just like he told Willie P he doesn't walk past 6 rushing titles in the hall everyday. I think T gets his message across and reels this guy back in. Coach seems to be pulling out all the stops to get this team on track and sometimes guys roles get jumbled and feelings get hurt. Grow up , get over it and play ball.

If the comments of the players are true I don't see him staying with the team coming out of the bye week. Don't forget he has always had an attitude problem dating back to college when he was a RB/Boxer (Boise State Game)

I liked the signing of Blount in the offseason, that turned out to be a big mistake.

If all we are looking for is a guy to give Bell a breather then we can just hand it to Johnson for that. I'm fine with letting Blount go. Addition by subtraction and all that. I bet he's actually dying to go to the rats or clowns just to try and play against us. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't run Tomlin in to the ground also.

Yep, they have short careers, giving Bell a few snaps off yesterday wouldn't make a whole lot of difference in the grand scheme of things but did make a big difference in a game they had to win.

Agreed with how they handled him yesterday 100%

Good for the Coach ....You can't let the players act like children ,maybe these types of things have more to do with our sub par play at times ...If we have to many players thinking I and not We that can result in playing flat...Coach T is doing exactly the right thing IMO ....

Of course not, but sometimes you have to run them into the ground. We needed Bell that game, he was really the only thing that was winning the game for us. If we had put Blount in, perhaps we don't get those 1st downs to close out the game and then the Titans get the ball back with a chance to win. We needed Bell too much that game in order to rest him
