You cut him and find someone else. A divided locker room is not good especially when he seems to have an influence over Bell. I don't care who else is out there we have two weeks to find someone. I would have cut him last night and asked him to find his own way home. We finally finish off a lesser opponent, play Steeler football in the 4th quarter and build some momentum into the off week and you have this idiot thinking about himself before the team.

He's on his 4th team for a reason, pretty sure you can believe whats being reported.

Find someone during the bye and drop Blounts sorry ass.

If players on the team are asking him to be shown the door due to his attitude and work ethic that speaks volumes about the type of character he is and what should happen during the bye week.

Ok I'm a little confused here. I'm not going to touch the whole leaving the field before the game was over stuff but some of the responses in this thread are head scratchers. For the last week we have had serious debates going about Mitchell's leap over the victory formation abd whether that was classless or competing for the full 60 minutes. We discussed deferring the kickoff and whether it's smart football or true competitors wanting the ball. Yet here we are with a player who is competitive and is upset that he wasn't getting played and he left the field. Let's be honest even with Bell in beast mode there was at three times he could have used a breather in that final 30 minutes so Blount has a legit gripe. Did he handle it in the best manner? No no even remotely but you can't praise others for their competitive fire and want to tar and feather a guy who is ticked he didn't get even a token handoff. I just don't get it.

Well, a guy who leaves the field before the game is over isn't exactly showing he wants to compete for a full 60 minutes. :smiley1:

Did Martavis Bryant leave the field because he didn't get a lot of playing time late in the game? Did Dri Archer leave the field because he didn't see the field much? Has Cortez Allen quit on the team for being benched? What about Mike Adams, did he quit? Lots of guys don't get the playing time they want. Everyone wants 60 minutes of playing time, but few get it. Those who don't get it generally work harder to try to get more playing time, they don't walk out on their team, which is perhaps the worst thing you can do in a team sport.

Blount has had problems on every team at every level. The only time he hasn't had a problem is in New England, but we all know that NE is tighter than a whore house in Vegas, problems just don't seem to get leaked out of that locker room. It is telling that Belichek didn't want him back, despite him playing very well there.

If other players on the team don't even want him around, then he needs to be gone. It's a problem that will only get worse.

But, according to sources, last night was when it actually came to a head. So, I'm just saying that he apparently has been a problem for a while. There are TONS of backs in the league that are role players. Blount should accept his role or move on. I don't see him being a number one back for anybody. Also, to leave the field early is a big no no. All players want to play but you still have to be professional and just accept the fact that you have to go with the hot hand. He had his shot at the goal line not too long ago and he went backwards. Short yardage guys shouldn't expect too many carries if they are gonna go backwards.

Not a bad idea actually. If we need 3 yards, BJGE will get 3 yards. The reason he isn't employed is because if you need 4 yards, he'll get you 3 yards. He has no big play ability, but the dude almost never loses yards. I think for his entire career he's only had a couple carries where he has lost yards. That's very impressive.

That's my thing. He left the field. With this team's recent history of injuries to key players Bell could very well just be one play away from an injury and then Blount would be the next man up. But if he's crying by his locker what help could he be when his moment comes? You hear a lot of guys that don't get a lot of time just saying "I just try and keep myself ready". That sounds like a cliche but with as many injuries as there are in pro football that statement actually has quite a bit of merit.

The majority of playoff contenders, outside of KC, need help at RB. I saw we shape him up rather than cut him, to save making our competition stronger.

Again here guys not saying he handled it well because didn't. I'm saying he has a role on the team to give Bell a breather, he understood that role up and until last night and for whatever reason Tomlin Haley or someone didn't put him in. He is a fire guy who has history of problems and that colors the conversation. Again I think what he did was wrong but he had a point and his emotions got the better of him. I remember after the Carolina game many were proclaiming him the next Bus now he is a locker room cancer? That's all I'm getting at.

He must go and go now. With the bye week up next this is a perfect time to get a free agent in here. The guy quit on his team. Nothing is worse than that.

I don't care how competitive a player is, you can't put yourself before the team. You just can't! I'm not ready to kick him out of the burgh just yet. But he'll need to have a come to Jesus meeting before this gets out of control. The OP title of Blount being a cancer is right on the mark at this present time. Nothing good can come of this until Blount's head is set straight. And that's a very hard thing to pull off given his history.
