This is how I see it. Browns resign Hoyer for 3 years at 12M per. Trade Manzel to Dallas for a second next year and a third year after that.

They should but may not want to pay Hoyer top dollar.

I don't think Hoyer is anything special. Therefore, I hope the clowns make him the highest paid qb in the league.

His team is 6-3. Same as Bens. Yes STEELERS have yet to play in week 10. I know.

He is playing very good in a contract year. With a high draft pick looking over his shoulder from day 1. He has made the Browns competitive. Something they have not been for many years. Give the man his due.

I just think he's a game manager at best but still I would like for him to get paid. Actually, I would like for him to get OVERpaid. I'm in total favor of it. Just for different reasons. LOL.

You're nuts, dude can play and is proving that this year. I've always thought he was better then he gets credit for. It's not like they are so loaded with talent that all it takes is a game manager, he's the reason they are 6-3.

What did he do, insult Marsha or something? :lolol:

No. I just think they have a good line and can run it well and it is making him look better than he is. Derek Anderson looked good when he played for them a few years ago also. If Hoyer was really that great I highly doubt he would have been shipped all over the league like he has been. It's nothing personal against him. I just look at his numbers and they don't scream big contract to me.

No one is saying he should get a 20 million contract but the numbers that Myron suggested is fitting.

Really, the only team to let him go that had a shot at starting was Arizona but they were committed to Kolb. He was never going to start in NE or here. Those cuts really had little to do with talent.

I hope the Clowns do go with Manziel, they'll suck again :lolol:

Well what I was thinking when I initially saw the thread was what Deion Sanders was talking about. After the game he was talking to Hoyer and said "There was a $100million qb on the field and I couldn't have known it was Dalton" Then he said Hoyer deserved a big contract and made him his new "pay da man!" So that's why I was saying that he doesn't deserve a ton of money. I just don't think he's a franchise qb at all. Of course I don't think Manziel is either but I would like to see him play and get his dome rocked. LOL.

    My prediction....
Clowns win 10-11 games this year with him and make the playoffs. In the offseason they let him walk because they spent a first rounder on JF and he is the future. Hoyer goes on to a good career somewhere else (and we're deluged with sign Brian Hoyer and trade Ben threads this offseason from the numbskulls of this board) and JF turns out to be the monumental bust that Merrill Hoge said he would be and the Clowns go back to the cellar for the next 8 years.

Meh. LOL! I do think he's better than Manziel though. They will probably give him the Derek Anderson treatment though.

Think Colt McCoy had a cupl good games recentley?
Hoyer`s doin pretty good on a team with very little talent, and a good line, and some good running backs..

Wait till he gets Josh Gordon back, and maybe Jordan Cameron... He`s really doin a good job for the Stains...
A lot of his problem against the Texans today, was his recievers dropping the ball... even tho he got DRILLED a cupl times today...
The second hard hit, seemed to piss him off/wake him up...
What they will do with him at the end of the year, and Haslam`s Darling on the bench, is a good question...
I`m guessin they will screw it up, and let Hoyer go...

If they have no intention of trading Manzeil, than Hoyer is gone, IMO.

I'm not sure I agree. With the way rookie contracts are these days, they can absolutely sit Manziel and play Hoyer for the next few years and then let Manziel walk. If the Browns are winning, the fans won't be screaming for Manziel to play.

I listen to a lot of NFL talk radio on Sirius, and those guys were saying the other day that they know Ray Farmer and he's not the type to play Manzeil just because of the hype, and that they'll probably stick with Hoyer long term if they believe they can win with him.

    Time will tell.

    Interesting point, Shaner...
I also, believe Ray Farmer would be content to sit Johnny Football on the bench for another year or 3...
He is NOT given over to the idea that, "We drafted a guy high, he needs to play NOW"...
The more Hoyer wins, the more difficult the situation is gonna get...
    Farmer doesn`t sign the checks.
Haslam does, and he REALLY wanted Manziel, according to everything I`ve read here, near Cleve...
MAYBE as much as Jerry Jones did in Dallas...
If Farmer was in charge of the checkbook, he would probably pay Hoyer, over Manziel, if Hoyer keeps a high percentage win streak going...
    But...
    He`s not... It`s Haslam`s call...
Assuming he isn`t convicted on fraud charges, for the "Pilot Flying J, rebate fiasco",

And forced to give up Ownership...

Hoyer is gonna want big money, and/or a guaranteed starting role, and rightfully so, IMHO...

I think Farmer would give him that, if he continues to play as he has...

    Haslam,,, I`m not so sure...

    Only in Cleveland!:lolol::yeehaw:

I'm not sure Manziel is the type to be content to sit, I look for him to start acting up next year, if he is not starting. I think he needs to be the lime lite to be happy,
