Rex Ryan was asked about what Mitchell did at the end of the game and he said he thought it was bush league and that he was disappointed by it. It is quite laughable for a person with such low class to find ANYthing bush league. I just started thinking though. Suppose Mitchell had succeeded in forcing a fumble and we recovered and went on to win. Would you consider Mitchell a hero or a villain? I would have been all for it. If the game is "60 minutes" then you should be able to play it the whole time right? However, if someone did it to us I would be incensed. LOL. Here's the article.

I agree with Ryan, I was embarrassed by Mitchels actions. If the Ravens had done that to us, I'd be flipping mad.

Mitchell has been a big disappointment to me so far.

On a side note, you keep calling Rex classless, I know people don't like him because he is blustery and talks too much but never heard classless as one of the reasons. Is there a story I'm not aware of?

I agree with blast. All Mitchell has shown me so far is that he is a hothead with a penchant for blowing coverages and missing tackles. I thought he would have picked up the defense by week 10, but he apparently hasn't.

does anyone know if the coaches called this or he did it on his own?
Also did anyone see (maybe gay) giving mitchell down the road about it?

It WAS bush league, and made us look bad. Mitchell has a $2 million roster bonus due this offseason. I believe that if we cut him before paying that bonus, we have a net cap savings of $1.15 million. So far I haven't seen enough out of him to pay that $2 million. I have hopes that he'll improve and be a solid player down the stretch, but it hasn't happened yet.

Just the way he has conducted himself over the years. He's just a foul mouthed person that doesn't strike me as being professional. I actually appreciated Tony Dungy calling him out a few years ago. I agree that Mitchell hasn't done jack but you're saying that IF Mitchell had succeeded in forcing a fumble and got us the ball back that you would have been mad that we won? I wonder if he WOULD have gotten it and Tomlin WASN'T aware he was gonna do it if Tomlin would have made Ben kneel on it?

Not sure why people refer to Rex Ryan as classless. He's abrasive, but that's far different than classless.

As for that move, it is absolutely bush league.

No one has yet to answer what their response would have been to it if we had won.

The two have nothing to do with each other.

If we had won because of it, I would have been happy we had won, but it still would have been a bush league move. The end result doesn't change anything.

Rex Ryan has also cursed at a fan. That's really unprofessional. Ryan just strikes me as a drunken buffoon that stumbled in to a front office and said "my dad is Buddy Ryan" and they said "hired". I actually dislike the whole family if you want to know the truth. The Rooney's, the Mara's, and Ralph Wilson they are not.

Fair enough. I just don't know why they talk about "60 minutes" and then get mad over stuff like this. I will tell you what is ACTUALLY bush league. Babin hitting Ben like he did but the big fat mouth has nothing to say about that.

I didn't see the game so I have no idea what hit you're talking about with Babin.

There's always unwritten rules in life. So even though the game is 60 minutes, it's just understood that you don't do stuff like that. The game is over at that point. The odds of forcing a fumble are so slim it's barely realistic. Sometimes you just have to accept that you lost and concede defeat.

On a dead ball, he plowed into Ben's knees. That should have started a brawl.

DeCastro showed that he's got some ***** in him.

I agree with everything you've said on this topic and Rex. As for Babin, Decastro may have actually been part of the problem, he blocked him into Ben IIRC. Have to see it again.

Blount, like Shaner said, I'd be happy they won but its absolutely bush and makes us look bad. Also, your scenario would never happen, so its moot.

If I'm not mistaken, the "victory formation" is a result of the Miracle in the Meadowlands. Herm Edwards took that ball when they were running out the clock and scored. Mitchell was trying to do the same thing. I would kill to know what Tomlin would have said if Mitchell had succeeded. Also how many people on here would consider Tomlin bush league if he TOLD Mitchell to try and force a fumble? I'm not asking that rhetorically. I'd really like to know. Also Babin hit Ben low and drove him to the turf after a whistle yesterday and Ben got SERIOUSLY mad and jumped up and got in his face. Babin got flagged. TTF might have a gif for it. He does for everything else. LOL.

If Tomlin told him to do it is he bush league? I would love to know if he told him to. I don't see how what he did is any different than calling timeout right before a kick or whatever. It's technically allowed. The same goes for "running up the score". It's a teams job to score on offense and stop a team from scoring on defense. So the whole thing about "piling it on" really doesn't matter to me. I would like to beat the rats by 100. I also wouldn't blame them for wanting to beat us by the same amount.

Babin knew what he was doing and Ben did too. That's why he let him have it. I think that is maybe the most fired up I've seen Ben get. He didn't even get that mad when Seymour cheap shotted him in the face.

i thought DeCastro should of been all over the guy that ran into Ben. He just stood there after that. You want guys that will fight to protect your quarterback. What came to mind was Jack Lambert when he went after the cowboy player for harassing our kicker.

DeCastro would have drawn an offsetting flag though ya know? I would like to have seen him light him up right after that too but it's probably smarter to just let the refs handle it. Although that crew was pretty shabby. They were letting them have it on Cooler Talk after the game.

There was a bigger reaction when Suggs tackled our backup RB.

Things DID get heated after that play though. That vid just shows a very small snippet. Is there a video of the ensuing fight that took place? DeCastro might have done something there. DeCastro has shown some fire before. I think it was in the first rats game this year that he got in to it with somebody and Justin Brown drew the flag. I actually thought DeCastro was a moron in that situation though.

You and your unlikely scenarios :lolol:

Tomlin didn't tell him to do that, that move totally fits what Mitchel has shown me so far. If Tomlin did tell him too, its still bush. There are unwritten rules that you just dont break, when you do, its bush, pretty simple.

Blount, you already said you'd be pissed if it happened to us, so I'm not sure why you're still arguing the point.

Imagine the Ravens did that and it resulted in Ben tearing his ACL. How would you feel? Would you be screaming for fines and suspensions, or would you just chalk it up to the Ravens playing the full 60 minutes?
