Ironically, in college, that's exactly where his talent was.

I hate to say this, but I am wondering if this isn't going to be a continual problem with Shazier.

shhh... he creeping in....lol... Until the D's Adjust we don't have to prove he can catch , but hey what if they do adjust and someone on our staff has taught DHB to catch ? I will just leave it at that for now,,,,creeping back out....

It is weird because he looks built like a safety... is he squat and compact enough for the middle of the trenches?

Archer is basically a return specialist that is also a 3rd RB/extra receiver. It's apparent after the past few weeks the kickoff struggles are blocking related, so he needs to be back there returning again. In all honesty with how much we pass to our RB's and our use of the screen pass, there should be ample opportunity for Archer to get a few touches a game. We just haven't figured out how to use him yet, and probably won't tonker with what we've got going right now.

In regards to DHB, his snaps are going down. Against the Ravens he only saw 15. The more Bryant grows within the offense, the less you will see of DHB. He only takes snaps from Wheaton and Bryant tho, since he is an outside receiver instead of a slot like Moore. With the way those two have been playing it's hard to see DHB earning more snaps instead of less. By the end of the season I doubt he even sees the field on offense... Maybe 5 snaps a game.

Archer shouldn't have been drafted no earlier than the 5th round, that was a luxury pick the Steelers couldn't afford to waste.

Just like it was with Bell last year? I think he will be okay. Both plays were kinda freak incidents. Took a helmet to the knee on a tackle from Timmons, then got his ankle rolled up in a pile. It doesn't matter what size/strength you are with knee/ankle injuries. I'd be more worried if he was pulling hammys and tearing muscles.

Take the hat from DHB and give it to Mount McCullers... Dri can run down the field fast enough as a decoy and DHB hasn't made any plays on ST's anyway... Justin Brown can't fill DHB's role as a mannequin as the opposing KR runs past him?

I hope he learns quick about standing around the pile. bad place to be usually. we run to the ball on defense and end up with a lot of friendly fire hits.

Archer came from a school in the Mid American Conference and could get by on his speed and ability alone. In the NFL he can't do that. He has a lot to learn but the talent is there. I think he will be OK long term and help the team.

Mitchell was terrible in Oakland. Harrison took a few years to catch on and Lance Moore only had 1 reception his rookie season. There are exceptions but it often takes those kinds of players a while to get it going.

to go around.I too believe it was a luxury
    pick we cold not afford.

If we bring back Redzone Redman to replace Dri, imagine the offense we could have.

I think that's the truth, there must've been a decent corner available at that point in the draft.

isn't that true about most rookies though? we have a team full of guys from major conf. that didn't do much early. the MAC has players, just maybe not team fulls of NFL caliber guys. nor do the majors for that fact.:smiley1::cool:
