Local news here # 7 not happy with Martavis Bryant practice habits. Says he needs to improve
these to catch up with the varsity squad.Needless to say it was an awkward question but apparently
    truthful answer.

I agree, I heard a Vet QB tell a young talented WR if you want to work with me you better give maximum effort on each and every play and in each and every drill.

My take is basically saying someone is always watching and what they see will determine the chances you will get and how soon you could EARN them.

Here's what i think is going on. The kid has a ton of upside and has a chance to possibly be a star WR in this league and we need his talents now. I think that is why we are pushing him so hard. They know the potential is there and MT and the coaches are trying to bring it out in him and make sure he lives up to his potential. And i think he likes being coached up and challenged.

As far as the fan base goes, we just need to remember he's still young and he's still a rookie WR. It usually takes a few seasons to really grasp the position and the offense so we shouldn't be worried about too much at this stage. I personally think he's coming along fine and love that he's able to draw PI calls. Of course we want those to turn into big catches but he's going to be someone defenses are going to have a hard time covering imo.

When Bryant was drafted, the articles mentioned how raw he was, and that a lot of time would be needed to develop him. But when he showed his potential in practices, I think some writers got caught up in what he might do in the future, and started talking about the rookie being a starter (or used a lot in the red zone) right away.

Ben is probably bringing expectations back to reality.

I think there is a subliminal message of "you need to turn it up a notch", but nothing more than that.

Wouldn't call this airing it out, just saying what he needs to do to be successful. Being a good leader *cough* Sanders *cough*

The message, work your butt off rookie.

Off topic, but I was watching g the game this week. This was the first time I've tuned in this year and had a chance to see some of the rookies. You can see flashes with this kid and why folks are excited. The pi call, and the catch he had along the sideline with a man all over him, that's some grown man type WR play. I was trying to think of who he reminded me of holistically. Not plax, he's not as big, and runs better. I was trying to think of someone raw coming into the league that had that miss a easy ball (concentration) and then make a one handed over two guys. The guy he most reminds me of, and many may disagree, is The late Chris Henry. The season before he died it seemed like the light went on. I remember thinking he was gonna be a stud and wasn't looking forward to seeing him twice a year for the next 5 years. I thought the kid had the skills to be an elite WR. I think the same for Bryant. Toward the mid to end I next season, he'll be a difference maker...if the light goes on as it did during Henry's last year. Jet thought I'd share. Go Burgh!!

No chance. He may be inactive on game days, but no chance he gets cut.
