When ESPN did a mock draft with McShay and Kiper, McShay picked Ebron to the Steelers at #15 Bill Polian didn't like the pick at all. Polian didn't think he fits as a Steeler his blocking is subpar and his immaturity. I don't like the pick either Gilbert was still on the board and McShay picks Ebron not their biggest need.

I didn't like it because Gilbert and Fuller were both still on the board, but Ebron wouldn't be a bad pick. I disagree about him being a subpar blocker. He might not be a traditional tight end who was asked to block more than catch, but he's got plays where he displays aggressive blocking on tape. I can't really speak about his immaturity.

While I don't think the Steelers will take him, I'd be excited if they did. It would signify some potentially dynamic offensive changes to come.

I would think if he was the pick it would demonstrate that the Steelers are looking to move towards what other teams are doing with their TE's ie Saints, Pats, and so on and away from using a two TE set with them being primarily blockers first and receiving options second. Same way I see if they take the kid from Iowa in later rounds that they are looking to stay the course and not follow what others are doing.

After I watched video of all the 1st round possibilities, Ebron quickly became my favorite, along with Mosley.
While CB is a bigger need, all of the CB's have a bigger risk, Ebron seems like a safe bet.

He's a better blocker then he gets credit for and I never heard anything about immaturity issues. Ebron is a dynamic player and if they want a big target, don't get much bigger then him.

Ebron would be a great pick. Really could put the offense in the top ten. There are other needs, but this would be the most interesting pick. Besides, I don't trust their ability to pick CB's or DL's.

Ebron will definitely not be my BPA at #15, but if we were to take him there I wouldn't be throwing stuff at my TV. There's undeniably a lot of talent there, and his blocking is nowhere near awful. A little work and it would be fine. I just hope that if he is the pick, that it's been discussed in depth with Haley and that he is 100% certain how to best utilize him all over the field (not just in line). There's no doubt that he can be a weapon, but if he's used the way our TEs have traditionally been used, he will not pay adequate dividends for a #15 overall pick.

I think he's a feast or famine type player. sometimes he makes good blocks and sometimes he doesn't. sometimes he makes tough catches and sometimes he drops easy TD's. we threw a fit when sanders dropped a sure TD last year, how about 3-4 during the season? I see it as a toss up and a not knowing what you will get from play to play. yes there is plenty of immature rumbblings about his attitude with team mates. we surely are not going to alter what we are looking to do on offense because of one player that's can or can't do from play to play. I'd have to say no at 15. I just think that's very high for him and our setup.

The Saints and Pats haven't won a Super Bowl with offenses that are TE dominated either.

SB? No, routinely among the best of their division? Yes. I'm sure you know that a lot more factors into winning the SB then any one position.
