The Steelers receivers

I think this position will be the most interesting and contested in training camp. AB is clearly the #1 WR and Moore is projected to assume Cotchery's role in the slot, then you have the potential of Wheaton to make the jump to the #2 WR. Also they will probably draft a WR in rd1 or rd2 guys like Mike Evans, Jordan Matthews, Donte Moncrief could be added to the mix. Then you have the veteran DHB and 2 young guys Moye and J. Brown trying to hang on to their roster spots. They will probably keep 6 receivers I think.

 

You make a good point. The competition at the WR position this year is going to be intense. Hopefully it brings the best out of everyone! I'm really pulling for Wheaton to take the step to the 2 at some point this season, but can be productive this year at the slot if he doesn't. Moore will help this team for sure. DHB is a wild card and is on a wait and see basis, but I wouldn't be shocked if he made the team. Moye, J. Brown, and K. Moore will all have a shot at the squad too. I bet your prediction about 6 receivers on the 53 will end up being correct. That seems like a real possibility (if not a probability) at this point.

 

I have said I want moncrief or Matthews. if we land one of them and wheaton steps up at all, I think we will be one of the best. we have a true #1 in brown. add wheaton or draft pick and moore in the slot. can you see a safety covering heyward bey in the slot?lol wont happen. I think we will be able to stretch the field better now because we can do it with slot wrs as well. it could be very good

 

So now it's up to Colbert/Tomlin to land one of these Draft pucks and we are good at this spot.The cb,lber, and oline and dline will needs to be addressed.Will Keisel and Harrison buy us another year?

 

A lot seems to be resting on Wheaton this year. It could be argued there's more expectation to step up to no.2 than there ever was with AB. Here's hoping he does it - or another youngster becomes a camp surprise. This is a year where we could do without any niggling injuries or minor setbacks in camp and preseason.

I'm looking for an energised camp around the WR position, though.
