Hopefully we don't overpay for some other team's Ziggy Hood.

I mentioned his name in another post...I don't know a ton about him...but he has the size/etc to be a DE in a 3-4...and there were a number of people saying he would be a decent "under the radar" signing.

His 4 year career isn't very impressive: 54 tackles with 4 sacks, not much to take from that:

I hope he keeps moving. I'd rather we've kept Hood and since we didn't......... well its time to move forward and not laterally or backward.

we have no choice. you have to have money and you have to draft well. kev has forced us to take whats left to field a team. that's what we have now , what's left.

if he and arnfelt can handle the outside and Williams can get on the field for some meaningful game time we should be alright. they need to extend heyward NOW, so he sticks around. if mclendon can build on last year and the gupo can get some meaningful snaps this year we at least have to get a PS player for the nose.

YES! Not sure what else they need to see from him, I hope they don't make the mistake of letting him play out the final year in order to "see what he has". He's shown enough, sign him long-term now while he's cheaper. He's priority #2 behind getting Ben a new deal. Cam needs to be extended this offseason.

As for Carrington, in our scheme, he's probably a wash for Ziggy, but at a cheaper price. I'd like it.

Still trying to figure Fangupo out. He seems like he's the perfect 3-4 NT. It just seems to me like the smart thing to do to slide McClendon over and play him at NT. I think McClendon would make a better DE, honestly. But, there's a reason why I'm not employed by a football team and they are.

Carrington was definitely showing signs of breaking out in 2012. He started 3 games in 2013, and then tore a quad muscle and was gone for the year. I don't know that he has the resume to be counted on to be the starter opposite Cam, but I think he would be - at minimum - a solid rotational DE and special teamer. I'd be all for signing him if the dollars are right.

I was coming in to post this same info pretty much. I live in Buffalo so I heard a lot of the hyper on him last year. They were VERY excited about him before the injury.

Agreed. Do an Antonio Brown on that guy. He doesn't seem like the type to take it easy once he gets paid. Lock him up now.

That is a very encouraging article. If he's fully recovered, he seems like a good, cheap option. Not sure about the running game, but should definitely be an upgrade to Ziggy in the pass rush.

Don't remind us... But yeah, 3 blocked kicks in one year doesn't sound too coincidental.

I don't think there's much to gather from it personally.

These trips can take a while, and who knows when his visit even started. His medical is likely going to be the biggest factor and biggest time consumer today.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. They're likely taking a pretty thorough look at that quad.
