I fear The top 2 CBs may be gone by the time we're up. I also feel this draft is deep in WR & CB which is why I went FS 1st and waited on CB. Also with the Woodley release OLB becomes more of a bigger need which is why I went with 2. Here we go:

    1) Calvin Pryor FS I like him better than Ha Ha and think Clinton will go 1st anyways. clark is gone and Allen is only signed for 1 yr.

    2) Davante' Adams WR A solid taller WR with great hands and leaping skills. A weapon is needed. Moye disappointed, Sanders is gone, wheaton & Justin Brown Unproven.

3)-Comp- Stanley Jean-Baptiste CB A taller play making CB.

    4) Prince Shembo OLB Athletic LB with great size & speed...... Great for Butler to groom

    5) Shaquille Barrett OLB Perfect size and production, raw but with Porter & Butler may become a future great.

    6) James Wilder Jr. RB A larger quicker hitting determined runner not afraid of contact.

    7) Zack Kerr NT A strong Large DT from Delaware who was productive. We should be ok at DE if we resign woods. possibly Hood or even at vet min Keisel. We have Arenfelt & Williams in the wings. I'm concerned about Fangupo, how can a reserve DE ( Woods ) pass him on the depth chart @ NT.

What do you think? Be Kind but honest.

Physically they're virtually the same. Pryor is 6'2" 208 lbs 4.57 40 yd with a 34.5 vert. Ha-Ha is 6'1" with a 4.58 40 yd and 33 vert. Both are ballhawks @ FS Ha-Ha in 12' had 5 int's but dropped off in 13' with 2. Pryor in 13' had 3 int's and 2 FF. Both are solid tacklers but Pryor is the bigger hitter which I want to replace our hammer in Clark. Ha-Ha also has a red-flag by being suspended 2 games for violating team rules..... Give me Pryor and in 2yrs he and Shark will be among the best safety tandems in the NFL.

If someone falls in Love with Prince's #'s he could go in the 3rd but he's still raw and played against weaker competition so Rd 5-6 may be more realistic. Its just to hard to know for sure. I like his rawness for Porter and Butler to mold just like Barrett, who I like better than Prince but prince will probably go 1st so I have him going 1st here.

I just think we need a centerfielder at FS. They may test the same, but when you watch tape, I just think Clinton-Dix looks much more comfortable playing the deep middle. I wouldn't be too thrilled with Pryor at #15. Of course, I like Terrence Brooks in the 2nd round to fulfill our FS need.

Adams is definitely in the mix in Round 2 with a bunch of other receivers. If he turned out to be the pick, I wouldn't be too let down. Love Jean-Baptiste. Like Shembo. I'd probably go in different directions with 5, 6 & 7 but that's just me.

I respect your opinions. I truly believe Pryor is that centerfielder/Hammer. He has speed, size good hands and hits hard which is steeler football. In fact his 1st listed weakness is he hits too hard being too aggressive in Todays new NFL. Its easier to throttle back a player than it is to get him more aggressive.

I started to go with Jordan Mathews in the 2nd but he had too many drops during Senior Bowl week. He'll make those great one handed catches then drop the easy pass. I had stone hands Nate flash backs.

What's your opinions on NT Kerr & RB Wilder?

I'd take Matthews, his drop ratio is 7.69%, not like he is a drop machine. He's faster and runs better routes then Adams. Plus he's an incredibly hard worker and film junkie off the field, he's exactly the type of guy I'd want on my team.

Sometimes we caught up in #'s. Sometimes one game can overshadow a season. Both WR will be successful in the NFL. Jordan being a bit taller and a bit faster doesn't always mean a better WR. I feel adams is the more polished WR/rte runner with really good hands.

I know pryor had the ints, but I just see him as more of an in the box safety, so I guess I see him more as a ss.

As for jordan matthews, I really like him, but he very well could go in the 1st round now.

I didn't bother scouting RBs this year, so I have very limited knowledge on any of them outside what I consider the best ten.

As for a late round nt, I like beau allen from wisconsin.

True, about the numbers but in this case, he's taller, faster and runs better routs, the only thing I may give Adams is better hands (I don't know his drop %) I don't think Adams rout running is a strength at all.

If I have 2 equal players on every level. One from Alabama and one from any other school....I take the guy from the other school.

First, I am not a huge fan of Saban developing talent. Yes he gets a ton of it at ALA, but by way of developing guys....I think there are still question marks.

Second, the high level of talent plays a factor to me. Yes, ALA plays against a very high level of talent, but they also are surrounded by a ton of talent. How many times do you think HaHa had to cover for his CB? How about Pryor?

If their numbers are similar, I go with the non-Alabama person.

After signing safety Mike Mitchell today the Steelers won't be drafting a safety in round 1. DT I like is Justin Ellis from La Tech in the late rounds.

I think we still basically have 3 spots open in the secondary. I expect us to pull a double-up on CBs, with one additional DB who is in there for special teams, nothing else.

I also like Ellis, not sure today what rd he goes in, definitely before rd 7.

Steelcity, I'm curious why you haven't scouted any RBs this year. Bell is all we have and even in a weak class we'll be drafting one somewhere.

There will be good RB's available in the late rounds Andre Williams, Bishop Sankey, Lache seastrunk, Kadeem Carey. I wouldn't draft a RB before the 5th round.

Originally I figured there would be no way we would draft one before the 5th round, so I didn't take too good of a look at the top tier RBs since we have Bell who will be the bell cow. I also believed we had enough horses in the stable (Jones, Dwyer, LSH, Alexander, and maybe even Redman).

Now that Dwyer is gone, I would still think the Steelers are keen on bringing back Jones & LSH. We will have to wait and see.

Now there are a few RBs I have kept an eye which include James White (Wisconsin), Silas Redd (USC), George Atkinson III (Notre Dame), De'Anthony Thomas (Oregon), and Fitzgerald Toussaint (Michigan).

A couple of other guys that caught my eye which I have done some research on include Beau Blakenship (Ohio). He is a Danny Woodhead type of RB. I also liked what I saw from Roderick McDowell (Clemson) when given a chance.

For the most part, this is a poor RB class. The RB position is being devalued as college football moves further away from "pro-style" offences. We probably can fill any RB holes with UDFAs or current FAs.

The reality is teams who can run the ball effectively still have the best chance at winning games. As much as people talk about Seattle showing the defense still wins, they also prove the other with a top notch RB they use to control the clock.

The college game has eliminated this for the most part, except for Alabama who consistently tries to run the ball and their TBs get a lot of hype. This reduction in role means teams need to look even harder to make sure the value they get is what they really want in their RB.

The whole "you don't need a top RB to win" is baloney as far as Im concerned. 1st of all, not any old scrub can come in and have success, that's fallacy number 1, fallacy number 2 is you dont need a running game in todays NFL :bscow:

It's not a devalued position in the league, I'd wager its a de-vauled position in fantasy football and probably where all that started, might be wrong about that but I'm not wrong about the importance of having a very good RB and ground attack. Why I wanted them to draft Bell so much last year and had no problem with them using the #2 pick on him.
