If they get a multi-year deal with Worilds done, I can see them carrying both Woodley and Worilds.

Just want to say considering Worilds up and down history with the team I like the way he has handled this whole situation so far. I'm not sure if he would have gotten more than 9.75mil next year in free agency, but he could have waited all the way through camp if he wanted to in order to see, but he signed his tender quickly and they are working on a long-term deal. I thought he would have a little bit of spite considering he has said before that he didn't feel like he had gotten his fair chance in previous years.

I think this is smart for Worilds. Signs the one year deal for great chunk of change. If he stays healthy and goes out and has a 13-14 Sack year. Think of the money he will command next year in Free Agency.

I don't think he gets a chance to test the FA waters next season as at this point it is looking more and more like a long term deal is in the works and possibly close to being signed....according to the latest reports at least.

Yeah me too. The question then becomes will Woodley restructure his contract? He did so this time last year so how does that work for this time around?

I don't think he signed that with his eye on next season, that would be a big gamble, he could get hurt or have a bad season. He could have easily tested the market this year and received a pretty good deal with guaranteed money. I believe he signed it knowing full well he would work out a contract with them.

yeah players hate one year deals. There is no security in it. The fact that he signed it so quickly tells me he wants to be here and the steelers basically just promised him the starting role he wanted. I think by March 11th he will have a long term deal.
