    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/...fl-combine-dennard-surprisingly-sizzles-in-40

"Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard, NFLDraftScout.com's top-ranked cornerback, posted a surprising 4.42, likely cementing a spot in the top 15 in Tuesday's mornings defensive back workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine."

    "
Oklahoma State's Justin Gilbert (4.35 unofficially) will battle to be the first cornerback off the board..."

I think Gilbert is better for our zone system and wouldn't mind taking him 15.

I really hope we get either of them or Mike Evans or Ha Ha. Both Kiper and McShay have us taking Nix III. I am not at all sold on Nix.

Nix looks like a monster to me. There are so many options at 15 I would be happy with that I think I'm going to be happy regardless at 15. I like Mosely, Nix, Evans, Lee, Gilbert, Dennard, Lewan, etc

If you go to Behind The Steel Curtain there is an interview with the head of Ketterlen Super Scouts and he says they give Nix a 6th round grade. Remember, these were the guys who ranked Brady #1 overall in 2000 in their rankings.

I don't know how anyone can give Nix a 6th round grade.

Yeah ... I'm hardly a draftnik these days, but I have a hard time believing that anyone can come up with ~ 200 draft prospects that deserve a higher grade than Nix. 3rd rd I might buy, but 6th rd seems farfetched.

On the primary topic of this thread. Yes to Gilbert in a big way. No to Dennard at #15 because he looks better to me as a pure press man corner.

On the secondary topic - I have yet to spend a lot of time watching Nix, but I can only see him having pick #15 value if he can be on the field for more than running down & distances. 3-4 nose tackles who can impact on all downs are very rare. Really, I can't think of any off the top of my head other than Vince Wilfork. If Nix can be the equivalent of Wilfork, then he's worth the pick. Otherwise I'd pass on him at #15.

By the way, are folks out here sure that there's a real Ketterlen Super Scouts? I haven't done any web searching on the subject, but the articles on BTSC that I have seen scream HOAX to me.

Holy smokes. I think you're right. I thought it was basically a sales pitch, but nothing comes up in google on them...

I love Gilbert, and even before today he was a lock top 15, but now, no way he sinks past 10. Lions will take him at 10 if he goes that far. Robinson wouldn't be a bad player either, but it depends on how the FO wants to plan the DB future? Like I said several times, I PRAY we trade down, get an extra 1st or early 2nd and get 3 top notch players. There is going to be some serious talent through the first 3 rounds. I just don't see Nix as a 15? Why take him there when he will be around in the next two rounds? It just depends on what the FO wants, as we all laughed at the Cowboys last year when they reached for a guy that might have been there up to the 4th rd, and that rookie graded out to an all pro status this year. A top 3 DB, Shazier, and Nix would be an awesome 1, 2, 3

A lot of draft boards have Nix has a top 10/top 15 player, not sure he's the type of person who will last long considering he's by far the best nose tackle. And 15 too high for a NT? Look at what Casey Hampton did. A big 330lbs guy who can make downs 1 and 2 hell on the run is certainly worth a first round pick.

Those articles are fake. The evidence you just used to give him credibility came out of the same series of articles and are in "his own words". Show me one other place on the internet or anywhere that talks about Ketterlen Super Scouts besides BTSC....and now this forum ofcourse.

I was seriously hoping Gilbert would blow it on the 40. I think we had a chance, but just lost him for sure.

I was kind of hoping the same thing, though, I don't know exactly how much his 40 improved his stock. I'm sure a little bit, but I think any scout worth their stock new just how fast he was. Either way, this year is a pretty good year to have the #15 pick.

I may have overreacted to Lewan's character flags before. There's a lot of conflicting information out there now.

not sure he would make it to us but he's a lot lighter on his feet than I first thought.

I would love Matthews even in the first but I'm really liking what I see from cooks. he may have been the guy that made wheaton look better than he was. the production is there and he did win the biletnikoff award as the best wr in the country last year. I read he was 56 yards away from beating out lee's jr. year record which was one heck of a year. then followed it up with another very productive year. I also read he has never missed a game at any level with an injury.

Janis is pretty intriguing also. I've also been watching some more of amaro. used in the slot the kid would be hard to handle down the seam if wheaton could handle the #2 spot.

so many choices that could fit. Hageman too, would be interesting but DE is very thin this draft.:hmmm::cool:

Why would BTSC print fake articles??? I'm not saying I'm 100% sure they're true, but I have no reason to think otherwise. In the first article they talk about how the NFL wiped them off the map with lawsuits and stuff.....just saying.
