This guy has Steeler TE written all over him. He's a solid inline blocker with good hands and at 6'6" 260lbs he's a beast. Personally I would prefer the Steelers use their 4th or possibly even 3rd comp pick on him over Ebron, Jenkins, or Amaro.

    Thoughts?

I've liked him for quite a while. I think he pretty much fits the mold of a Steelers TE exactly. He's not the exciting playmaker TE, but he's got good hands, plays in a down stance or at the Y quite often, and is a really good blocker. 10 years ago he would have had a much higher draft stock, but guys like him are harder to find in this era.

He won't be the sexy pick that most fans will cheer over, but he'll be a solid contributor, and will see the field early on IMO. Basically, he's an old school TE. I'd be surprised a little bit if he is still around when the Steelers pick in round 4, but you never know. He would be the much more obvious Steelers TE pick in this draft to me.

I've said in a couple of posts that I think this is who they will draft, he's Heath and that aint bad. I think they are going to do defense defense and then take C.J. (I'm assuming we get a 3rd)

I really think he would be an awesome selection for us with the 3rd round comp pick. Obviously it would be better to grab him in the 4th, but I don't think he will be available then.

I think he is much closer to Matt Spaeth than Heath Miller. I like the player, but we already have Matt Spaeth on the team.

I like cj too. spaeth is only here 1 more year. another guy I like that is in the same mold as cj is ted bolser from Indiana. he could be there in the 6th or 7th if they miss out on the former.

I coundt 21 dashes inbetween Heath and CJ, while only 14 inbetween 14 and Spaeth. Sticking with my original hypothesis:lolol:

LOL. I had problems with formatting. I guess I'll concede that he's closer to Spaeth than Heath. :lolol:

yea but, heath is friggin remarkable. do ya know any other player the whole stadium yells for even when they just take a drink of G-aide? even in away stadiums. he's like so far above the rest, he's like well chuck Norris. if TTF could have fit more of those in between the two, he would have. a guy can only hold a button down so long ya know.;)

I think every tight end in the draft is a lesser version of heath and I aint saying it just because he is a steeler. he was considered an all around te out of college. these guys cant block anymore

Well, not yet, but he will be ;)

I agree, if this is who they are targeting, they will have to grab him before then, if he has a good combine, he definitely won't be available in the 4th. I think people are selling this kid short though, he'd be a good pick up.

I like Fiedorowicz. Not that I would hate us taking one of the "top 3" TE's, I just don't think the FO covets those guys skill set like they would Fiedorowicz's. I'd bet they consider CJ a much greater value in the third than any of the top guys in the first. I would be totally cool with picking him up w/ our 3rd conditional.

On a side note, his last name would make a fantastic name for a sandwich.... The "Fiedoro"wich. Yum.

I would absolutely LOVE this pick in the 3rd or 4th round. He's a slightly bigger and slightly less talented version of Heath, but he's got much better hands than Spaeth.

I would prefer they find a TE like Fiedorowicz later in the draft a guy who can block and has decent hands, instead of drafting one early in the draft. I don't get why people think you need a athletic TE like Vernon Davis and Jimmy Graham other players in the NFL think they're soft. I tend to agree with them those guys did nothing in the playoffs and seemed intimidated by Seattle's defense.

If we could land an Evans, Robinson, Moncrief, Adams etc. I'd be ok with Fiedorowicz.. Although I'd prefer one of the big 3..
