A little bit, yes. It would be an upgrade for them.

He's good at making mediocre qb's look better than they are. And since they have a mediocre qb that could work well for them. Also I think he could get Ray Rice more involved and now that he's healthy that could be bad news for us if we don't get this running d in better shape.

This. They haven't had a top notch OC in quite a while, but I think Kubiak is a very good coach. He'd really bring back their running game, which would open things up for Flacco

It's looking official. Rumor is that they'll announce it at 3 pm. The potential silver linings:
Kubiak's playbook is the Rosetta stone.
The national media creates a bogus controversy about Gary and Joe's relationship.
He gets a head coaching job next year.

Yeah he'll probably be the next Browns coach. LOL.

Probably over Cam Cameron as well. I wonder how this is gonna affect the whole "if you have too many coordinators you can't have success" arguments? Won't this be Flacco's 3rd in as many years?

Yeah, he's had a bunch of QB coaches, too.

You think maybe that's a wee bit of a myth? I've used that to defend Alex Smith and Kordell Stewart as well.

I think it's all depends on the QB. Look at Peyton, he doesn't need an OC or QB coach, you could throw any guy in the spot and he'd be along for the ride. For some other guys, they need a good QB coach to work on fundamentals that they didn't do in college. (Stewart)

OC's that come in with their own playbook are problematic if the players and QB aren't on the same page. We shall see, but the only reason Caldwell worked for the Ravens during the SB run, was because it was a midseason switch and relied on individuals making great plays.

Yeah but didn't he stick around for this season too? That's why I was saying that. You're right about certain players though. Brady has also had multiple oc's as well. I just hope it doesn't work out so well for flacco.

That's what I meant about Caldwell. We all saw what their offence looked like last year when teams had a chance to dissect it with game tape. At times during their run to the SB it resembled a chuck and luck approach. That just doesn't work in the regular season with any type of consistency.
