Well maybe he will be in shape for his next team I don't see anyway that he is a Steeler next year unless he takes a giant pay cut

This. Combine his salary with his recent performance and......not looking like he'll be around next season.

I wonder if this means he got some assurance that he will be back? I know him and ike could be close and players train together all the time but someone has at least told him he needs to change something

Good move, about time. Wonder if we'll get to benefit from it or some other team.

This SOUNDS like someone who knows he might get cut, so he will promise to try something different. Maybe he doesn't want to do the thing which is different, but he is seeing "I'm cut" if he doesn't.

I cannot imagine him not being cut. A little known rule about the new CBA:

    http://sportsblogs.post-gazette.com/...s/201312190002

    Quote:

"And if they do not use that $8 million in 2014, with the new cap rules in the CBA, they can carry it over to 2015 to virtually offset the $8.5 million in dead cap money he would count against them if they do cut him in June 2014."

If they go by this, it really limits the amount of dead money they would have to eat

Yup. guys a beast when healthy, but as we all know, going on three years now he hasn't been at full health. I hope this helps, as he still has the ability to earn every bit of that contract he signed.

    Link didn't work.
That information is pointless. If they don't spend that $8 mil this year, that would be basically the same as cutting Woodley before June 1st: the hit from dead money would be concentrated in 2014 instead of 2015.

Right, at least it is done with in 2014 rather than pushing it til 2015. They need to realize that contract was awful and he is not able to stay healthy (even though he plays well when he is) and cut their losses

Woodley sees the writing on the wall and probably heard the rumors about him getting released.

I really doubt who Woodley trains with will have any bearing on his fate, thats going to be all about the dollars.

Money aside, I still kinda hope we keep Woodley. He sets the edge better than any other OLB on our roster...

I love it, he has a big Yellow streak running
up the his back. He is thief, Rooney's
are getting stolen from. This is why I cannot honestly
sign Worilds to a big contract.Let him explore the FA route some stupid owner will over pay him.

I wouldn't say being injured is having a big yellow streak. The guy just can't stay healthy. Period. It's nothing to do with his manhood and everything to do with ****ty luck and/or his training.
