As of now.. I'm assuming comp picks will be a 3rd for Wallace and a 4th for Lewis

1st- Eric Ebron TE North Carolina

A physical mismatch for most defenses that would be deadly in the seam. Terrific body control
    2nd- Jordan Matthews WR Vanderbilt
Big possession WR with good hands that could be effective in the RZ. Very productive 262 career receptions
3rd (COMP)- Aaron Colvin CB Oklahoma
Physical corner that played well against good competition. Solid player
    4th- Spencer Long G Nebraska
Technician with good mobility. Could be a steal because of a bowl game knee injury
4th (COMP)- Beau Allen NT Wisconsin
Thick, strong run-stuffer out of the big 10. His motor is fun to watch.
5th- Bradley Roby CB Ohio St
Had a rough season but the sky's the limit. Had a great '12
6th- Andrew Jackson ILB Western Kentucky
Physical run-stuffing presence. Plays with a bad attitude
    7th- Raijon Neal RB Tennessee
Productive, physical runner with good balance. He had some highlight reel runs in '13

It's early but this is the direction that I'd like to see the team go.

That's a good looking draft Numbah. Those are the right positions to be going after. Unfortunately, Bradley Roby has no chance to be there for us in the 5th round... he might not even make it to us in the second if he runs like he should in the combine.

You're probably right about Roby. I'm just going off a hunch that he may drop do to a poor season on and off the field. Although, it didn't seem to effect the honey badger's draft position too much. Roby will run fast for sure.

It is very possible. I hope he does drop a little, I think he fits our system really well.

I would be happy with one of the first two but honestly we need to address bigger needs. I think both is to much. the rest look solid. I can tell u neal is a good runner but he cant block at all.lol so not much help on third down

I think we may also get a 6th round comp pick for Mendy.

I would love to have some more draft picks, but I'm not sure who would be willing to move up in order to get someone around where we will be at.

6th round LB sounds a LOT like Vince Williams.

Plenty of teams. It's a pretty good place to be in to be a desired trade partner IMO.

Also, I'm not so sure we get a 4th. I'm leaning more towards a fifth comp.

I was thinking a fourth as well since he got a pretty good deal and started every game.

    Agreed..
Moving from 15 to the low 20's could get us a 3rd and Ebron. I'm all in on Ebron but I'd definitely consider Amaro there as well.. I'm all for trading down in this scenario.

Mendenhall was a first round pick that left as a free agent, we don't get any compensatory pick for him?

    I'm with you freak.
Maybe not for the same players but I think our need/value pick falls in the low to mid 20's.

Likely offset by the signing of Bruce Gradkowski.

Count me in. Unless a stud is falling in our laps, that's been my hope for this draft for quite a while.

That doesn't seem fair Gradkowski is a journeyman QB, I would be happy if we got a 3rd and a 5th. The front office blew it by keeping Sanders they could use that 3rd round pick from New England.

I don't see A Jackson falling that far IMO. That guy is an angry player, and he played well this year.

Very possible that he goes early, I just felt like he would drop like Williams did because of the label as a 2 down run-stuffer only.

I don't see Matthews still being on the board when we pick in the 2nd; the latest mocks have him going late in the first.

That is true for a bunch of guys IMO. The TEs and WRs especially in this draft. Maybe it is just because I have focused on them more this year since we need players at these positions, but it seems the rankings are going to change a bunch at these 2 positions this year more than in the past.

When it comes to how we draft, I think we can get a solid TE and a solid WR in the 2nd - 4th rounds...guys that can help us this coming year, but I think the guys available in round 1....will be studs.

Let me also say, that this at the moment is the main reason I want one of those 2 positions in round 1 at the moment. Unless we find a defensive player who can be that same thing...I want WR or TE.

What's the logic there? Mendenhall started 15 games and scored 8 touchdowns. Gradkowski never stepped onto the field.

Is it the money? The contract length? Mendenhall = $2.5M for 1 year ($2.5M/year). Gradkowski - $4.95M for 3 years ($1.65M/year)

Even if contract length is something that matters a lot for some reason, the playing time and contributions should outweigh that by a mile. Any way I see it, those should not offset.
