You don't know me very well. I gloat about everything. :lolol:

Just ask my friend Blast Furnace about my Todd Haley prophecy. ;)

And by the way, I would have been happy to have been wrong about my 8-8 prediction. That was just an honest and objective assessment of what I saw in this football team in the preseason.

I usually don't take pre- season games that seriously. :)

After this season, I hope the Steelers start taking them more seriously. Coming off a sub-par 8-8 season last year, I just wanted to see more life in the preseason and unfortunately it wasn't there.

I gloat also! I was really wearing everyone out at UPS this peak season. (that's what we call Christmas season) I nicknamed myself "MVPEAK" and told them they needed to erect a statue in my honor at the Knoxville UPS and my main supervisor said "It wouldn't be very big!" LOL!!! I thought it would consist mostly of mouth. HA! I LOVE to talk smack. It is so much fun.

Yes it is! Of course when I'm wrong on my predictions, I'll usually just go into hibernation for a little while, lol.

I'm wrong more than I'm right so when I am right, I've got to take advantage of it. ;)

Yeah and what's funny is that if people knew the way their packages got treated in there they would NEVER use UPS. However, it's pretty much the same for Fed Ex and the Post Office too. I knew there was gonna be TONS of stuff late. I mean in Knoxville ALONE we were pumping out about 200,000 a DAY! I MYSELF loaded over 40,000 boxes in these past 3 weeks. That's a RIDICULOUS amount for one person to do. UPS wants each loader to average 300 boxes per hour and we were working almost 5 hour shifts. I was AVERAGING OVER 3,000 per day for the first 2 weeks. In 13yrs of UPSing this was the hardest peak I have ever had.

Yeah I think most of the problems were up north and it was mostly yankees that were crying but those northern softies cry about everything. LOL.

LOL. My brother drives for UPS and they had things so botched up that they put him "on call" on Christmas Eve night. So of course he had to go back in to finish deliveries after they got everything sorted. What a mess. Of course I LOL'd at him while I was at home enjoying my time off. :smiley1:

My wife has been waiting for a package for my Xmas present for 2 weeks now thru UPS. I live in Indiana, the package is coming from California. She tracked it 2 days ago and it was in Hawaii. I expect it's probably going to go thru Hong Kong and then thru Europe before it gets here.

What happened was that box got what is called "misloaded" which means that it got put in the wrong truck somewhere down the line. So the way the hubs work is that all the trailers are lined up in lines of ten. Those ten trucks make up what is called a "PD" and our hub has 7 of them. There are guys standing up on ladders about 25 feet off the ground and they sort packages in to the chutes connected to the truck where the boxes are supposed to go. So the guy that was sorting Indiana must have accidentally put it in the HI truck and the loader, who was the last line of defense, missed the fact that the box didn't belong in there and now they are having to jump through hoops to get it to you. If she had it sent as like 2 day or 3 day air UPS will have to pay you back on it. Air is guaranteed. If she DIDN'T send it through air I'm not sure if they owe you anything.

LOL! Actually what's funny about that whole situation is that we got these new scanners about a year ago that actually TELL you when you scan a box that doesn't belong in the truck you are in! They make this long beep and a message pops up on the screen that says "DO NOT LOAD! PACKAGE BELONGS IN DOOR 150" or whatever door it goes to. Sounds like California needs some better sorters and loaders. I'm not surprised about it though because during peak we hire what are called "seasonal" loaders that work there from like October through Christmas. So it is possible that some guy that was just there for a little extra money loaded his box in to the wrong truck. It's still really lame for him though and I hate to hear it. I've seen guys get mad at management and PURPOSELY misload boxes! That's REALLY bush league man!

Are the California scanners programmed to speak English AND Spanish?

Thanks for the explanation. I know you guys aren't just screwing off and you're super busy this time of year but I did have to chuckle when I seen the route it was taking.

It's certainly not as bad as when I worked for an Airline and the company started laying off thousands of employees and a group of the bag smashers decided that they had enough so they were making a statement. What they did was totally wrong and aimed at the wrong people.
These clowns fully loaded two separate 757's luggage where one of the planes was going to Germany and another that was going to Maui, Hawaii. They took the Hawaii vacationers luggage and sent it to Geramny and the Germans luggage to Hawaii. Upon unloading, each cargo compartment had a note taped to the inside door telling the CEO to "Figure it out". As an employee who was actually was getting laid off I was PO'd because they purposely screwed up people lives temporarily.

I just want to thank all of our board members for, AGAIN, makin me, laff my ass off!!!!
The whole, package got misdirected thru ups, thing, was CLASSIC!!!
There was actually a similar write-up in our local paper, by a columnist, who specializes in satire, and taking government agencies to task, when he gets complaints from his local readers..
This article had to do with a package sent thru the United States Postal System, which was delivered using one of their "priority" features, where the sender can track the package, just like you can on UPS...
The package in question, never actually left the continental U.S., but went from somwhere here in northern OHIO, down to like Texas, then way over to the upper northwest portion of the country, Like Seattle, down to California, then over to another midwestern state, maybe Illinois, or sumthin like that...over the course of 2 weeks, when it was originally intended to be sent, just to Cincinnati, OH....THE SAME STATE IT WAS MAILED FROM!!!...
The local director for the USPS, gave a response, to our intrepid columnist, explaining the "Wheels and Hubs", that make up the U.S.Postal delivery system... It actually did make sense, but reminded me very much, of BFT`s description of UPS`S system!!!
Good thing they are gonna raise the price of stamps for standard mail by 3 cents a pc, after new years, to help make up for their multi-billion dollar losses, recently....
And I won`t get started on the fact that the postal system is losing money, in part, due to our wonderful congress deciding that they had to fully fund their pension plan for like 50 years into the future, while congress can raid social security, or other programs, to pay for stuff now...
OOOPPPS!!! Sorry... Off the soapbox, now, I really just wanted to say thanks for all the laffs in this thread!:guiness::lolol::clapping:

No problem dude and if they don't get you your box let me know and if you want you can give me the tracking number and I will take it to my buddy at work that helps people who lose their boxes and I can maybe have him get to the bottom of it because he has to call other hubs a lot.

Bleedsteel - see you are in Akron, so I take it the package had to travel approximately 100 miles to get to Cincinnnati and yet it probably traveled 4200 miles and took probaly 10 extra days or more.

Well that there is typical of any Government run agency. It's going to be really scary when these idiots try and run Health Care! Oh and the bozos in charge of that is going to be the IRS.

I had a falling out with those clowns this year. In short, They owe me $409 and told me they owe me that money but I aint gonna see it.
