Yeah reports by Rappaport? I don't take much stock in anything he reports. Although if true it's good news.

But players commit illegal actions all the time that result in the opposing team losing out on points, like a pass interference and after the penalty is assessed, the offense might only get 3 points (or none) out of the drive.

Tomlin didn't even make contact with the player and there is no conclusive evidence that Jones would have scored a touchdown even if Tomlin was at the bottom of the sea.

None of this makes any sense, but then again, Goodell hasn't made much sense during his reign.

    Tomlin is not a player.

Man it's really lame that we're not losing a draft pick. I was hoping we would so we couldn't then draft another o-linemen to not know how to develop.

Who knows what lurks behind the mind of Goodell and his henchmen. The Rooney's were a big supporter of putting him in power. Just writing this makes me gag.

The team will be getting 3 compensatory picks, Wallace, Lewis and Mendenhall

The Sword of Damocles now hangs over the Steelers

I'm worried about the game this Sunday

Yeah not sure how one can compare players making contact with other players on the field and what our coach did- who has no business being on the field. Look, Tomlin admitted it was a blunder, it was illegal, it was embarrassing. Why are we still acting like he didnt do anything wrong? He did, he was punished, and its over.

Having said that, I would be stunned if we lost a draft pick in addition to the 100,000.00 fine.

Didin't the special teams coach of the Jets trip a player? Or was that a player that tripped a player. If it was the coach, they didn't lose a draft pick, it's idiotic to even be considered for us. Tomlin didn't even touch him.

I agree it makes no sense to lose a draft pick, but if for some reason points for gets brought into the equation and Baltimore loses the tie break by a difference of 4 points, then I could understand the NFL coming down extremely hard on the Steelers. Even though there's obviously no evidence Jones would have scored, the fact is Tomlin interfered in a play that could have possibly been a scoring play.

Did the Jets coach potentially take points off the board for the other team? If not, then that's the difference.

By the sounds of it, the only way we lose a pick is if Baltimore loses a tie break by 4 points or less, then the NFL is going to hammer us.

Also, the Jets fired that guy, so that probably plays into it.

Yes he did, but that just makes point that you can't compare players action to a coaches. Not that it really matters, but the Jets coach was behind the white line.

I agree, and I hope we don't lose any picks over this. I just don't see how they can even consider doing that.

I would have preferred they suspend him one game and MT be responsible for that game check and not the Rooneys. Lets see 1/16 of 7 million = This should be the real fine.

How on earth would that fit the offense?

We didn't lose because of this play, and they didn't win because of it.
