Chargers and Titans have too many tough games left. I feel they both lose 1 more and are eliminated. I also feel we lose at Green Bay so if we win 3 out of our last 4 then what do we need to gain a playoff birth? That leaves us with the Ravens and Dolphins.. Baltimore will need to lose 2 of their last 4. They have Vikings at home then at the Lions home for the Patriots and then at Bengals. Dolphins have at Steelers home for the Patriots at Buffalo and home for the Jets. I don't know about all of you guys but I think this senario is verry possible. Of course the Steelers could make it easier for themselves by winning all 4 that are left but if we don't and only lose at Green Bay I think our chance are great.

I don't understand why people worry so much about all this.

If we beat Miami and Cincinnati, then let's revisit the what needs to happen talk.

I don't see us losing to Green Bay. There is some speculation that Rogers might not play again this year. Even if he does I wouldn't think he would be anywhere near the top of his game.

Exactly. All these "if" scenarios make no sense. The Steelers just have to take care of their bid-ness and let the chips fall where they may.

it's called playoff talk. Better to talk about playoffs than anything else right now. Put on every nfl network show and that's the discussions not about the nfl draft. Lighten up!

if we win 3 of 4 then tenn. needs to lose 2...

The Bengals game is going to be a really tough game...Could be the team that knocks us out for a second year in a row...

Hey man it's all we got.. What else are we going to talk about? If we don't talk about playoffs and the remote chance we make it we might at as well get TTF to put the server on vacation and wait until draft day lol

IMHO we are going to win against Miami, and then we are going to beat Green Bay. In the mean time, the Titans will not fare so well, nor will the Chargers, Jets, Browns, Bills, Raiders, etc. I also happen to think, IMHO, that the Ravens are not good enough to win 6 in a row. They will fall to either the Vikings or the Lions, simply because. Which means the playoff picture will be between us and them come week 16.

Same here, the deck is so stacked against us, just win our games and see where the chips fall.

Here's what I say. Winning the Super Bowl is not necessarily about being the "best" team but being the "healthiest" team. We always seem to hear about teams getting healthy "at the right time" and I think there's definitely something to that. We are NOT that team. You've gotta have your best players on the field in as close to top form as possible. Right now we are just not that team. We are relatively healthy as far as our top guys go but our line is such a mess that I just don't think we're gonna have the horses we need. It's lame but I think that's pretty much the reality of the situation.

I'd feel a heck of a lot better about the final four games if the team had any semblance of an NFL-quality o-line. This thing is a disaster.

Honestly, Making the playoffs with this roster and coaching staff is nothing more than a pipe dream. The Oline is a continual patch work of mediocre back ups due to key injuries and the secondary is lit up by the most average QB's. I'm as die hard a Steelers fan as anyone but to believe this team has a chance to sneak in as a 6th seed is just delusional.
    Spare yourself the misery.

Interesting tidbit is that the Steelers have about the 14th ranked D. If they can somehow turn it on for this last run, going 4-0 by not giving up many points and yards, they could end up a top ten D.

I get that. I'm just saying there's SO many games between now and the playoffs. There's 4 weeks and roughly... what? 8 teams? alive for the spot?

You could make your head spin all day thinking about the situations that need to happen. I'm just saying I'm not going to even think about it until we get past the next 2 AFC teams we play... And we'll have to do it without Velasco, Beachem, and probably Bell.

I feel like you do. I'm not even gonna put myself through looking at all the things that would HAVE to happen for us to make it. It's like trying to come up with the theory of relativity or something. Another big reason I have for not looking is the same thing you said and I mean Velasco, Beachum, and Bell. Not only them but Wallace and Whimper and Adams and whoever else they're gonna plug in there. I know we won it all in 08 with an atrocious line but then we had a great defense. Now we don't.

I agree. 8-8 seems likely. This team isn't terrible but mediocre.

The only playoff hope is that we win out at 9-7 and the other teams (Baltimore, Miami, Tennessee, SD, NYJ, etc) don't finish any better than 8-8 because I think we will likely lose out in nearly every tie breaker scenario. Really no sense worrying about this for at least 2 more weeks. I ran through the ESPN playoff predictor and based on my game predictions (not really accurate) the players will be home in time for new years.

I can see Baltimore (minn, det, ne, cincy) & Miami (pitt, ne, buff, nyj) winning 2 games, and Tenn (den, az, jack, hou) could win 3, which would put all those teams at 8-8, for which we'd lose out in head to head and conference record. But I wouldn't be surprised if Baltimore snuck in 3 wins either. In any case, there are still a lot of variables left.
