I know I'm probably going to get flamed for a couple of these thoughts but I have my flame retardant suit on.

In no particular order: I know Sanders is on the **** list and to be honest I'm disappointed as well but the 2pt conversion was a real tough catch. I know the ball got to his hands but it doesn't mean he even saw the ball coming. His vision was severely blocked by the defender. Try to catch a ball you can't see ,even if it hits your hands. He does deserve blame for some of his poor performances this year I agree. I think for me the worse part is the talent is there and he is so close to breaking out and it sucks that he will probably "get it" on another team.

I think the whole Tomlin sideline incident is unfortunate but some here are acting like he killed someone. Yeah it was stupid but I think many are using it as a excuse to bash him. I'm more concerned with him getting our guys to play at a more consistent level.

lastly one of our biggest weaknesses and needs was exposed last night. We need more from our LBs especially Jarvis. I know rookie ,shmookie. He has to forget the bull rush ,he is to light in the ass right now. He needs to do a better job using his hands and his speed,I'm not ready to give up quite though ,like some. More importantly we need a ILB to play along side LT. I'm sure our coaches realize this badly, which is why I think they tried to get Spence back. Timmons can't do everything,he needs a sidekick so they can play off each other's strengths. The Troy at LB experiment has to be killed off. He doesn't have the discipline or the physicality. His freelancing days should be put to bed.At this point he needs to be more of a CF especially with how bad our deep ball defense is.
I know our O line has been a problem for years and we could use a starter and some quality depth but they have come around a bit. Getting Pouncey back next year should help alot. If there is a can't miss ILB prospect in this years draft I feel it's a priority, along with a CB and a big WR and a .....................flame on.

Tough catch for Sanders to make. I think it looks worse because he had a couple of other drops in the game.

Anyone think the play we scored our last TD with was ACTUALLY suppose to be our 2 point play? I think so. I think the Steelers got frustrated and pulled out to their cadillac play to get the TD after being denied in the early going. I have a hard time believing that a back shoulder catch to Sanders in on the top of 2 point play list.

I for one am utterly livid at our clock management on the last drive. We played it like we were tied and driving for a go ahead score, not down 8. I could have even been OK with how we handled it if we were down 7, but to lollygag and use up 30+ seconds per play standing around between plays was infuriating. At about the 3 1/2 minute mark - when my fiancé asked why I was screaming at the TV - I told her that we're playing like the 2 point conversion is a foregone conclusion, and said "I bet we lose 22-20 because of it."

There are plenty of things to be ticked about, many of which have been raised in this thread (and others throughout the season) ad nauseum, but to me it's an absolute killer that our coaches are so awful at situational game management. I wanted to wait until the AM and cool off before posting any post game reactions. However, I still feel the same way that I did last night - and when we were sitting at 2-6. It's time for a change at the helm. I know it's not going to happen, but it should.

No flames from me, I think you're pretty much bang on.

What hurt about last night was that we played like the ****ty team we were a few weeks ago, and not the team we've been shaping up to be more recently.

Sanders' drop on the touchdown was significant, but not a drive killer. And 2pt conversions are not a high percentage call, especially against a red zone D like Baltimore. Especially when you're 3 linemen down.

What really, really, really killed us was giving up the last FG by Baltimore.

Still, what's frustrating is that, despite our flat start, it was all there for the taking.

That and the injuries. They are the longer-term threat to salvaging anything from this season than the loss.

Yep. I was the same. Although to be fair, had Sanders, Heath or Bell got in, the time situation would have been different.

I agree, but a coach has to understand that sh*t happens, and be prepared. We could have had 2+ minutes and 2 timeouts left when we kicked off. Not optimal, but it allows you to kick the ball off and give your defense a chance to force a 3 and out instead of relying on an onside kick. When you're down 8, you do not milk the clock. The odds are not in your favor.

Yep, always easy to second guess when things go bad. Say Sanders catches the 2 point conversion our clock management would've looked great. Steelers score with 3 minutes left and tie the game gives Baltimore plenty of time to kick a game winning field goal. Bottom line, sanders blew the chance of us getting overtime in which we would have lost because our o-line and bell were all dropping like flies with injuries.

I enjoyed the game I still have hope if the steelers are healthy! Suck it up..

The Good ... we came to play in the 2nd half.
The Bad ..... we didn't show up for the 1st half.
The Ugly .... this is "the standard" for a Tomlin coached team, never a full 60 min of inspired football.

The Ugly is going to be seeing Tomlin on ESPN all week over the Jacoby Jones kickoff return. I've already seen it 100 times. I think it be a bigger deal if the Steelers won, but for goodness sake they didn't.

First I will start with to much Free lancing by Troy,we simply don't have the players around him to let him loose like we used to...

Now on to Ike his Swagger is almost gone he is getting picked on each and every week now,,, it seems...We need to Look for a Franchise CB and need to start loading up on CB'S and DB'S in general...

I think it's time to let Sanders go as most on here believe,he simply is not the right style of WR to fit with AB nor is he consistant enough for my liking....

Now to the play call for the 2 point conversion,I hated that play call ...The situation dictated a shovel pass ..Giving half the OL was down the Ravens where going to press cover and send the house,it was the perfect time and the perfect place to call the play we had already had success with..Plus Dwyer has looked good and hard to bring down on a kick return earlier in the night....I would have liked our chances a lot better in that situation going with Dwyer .....

And on top of that, we will have to deal with everyone saying our coach interfered with a touchdown. Whether he did or not, it makes us look like we cant freaking win a game without cheating.

Jones didn't make a big deal out of it, this will be a dead issue on Monday. Whereas the helmet rule may still be a topic of conversation when the regulars return to the radio / TV shows. With 10 days between games, Bell may be ready to go

Spot on PWP, just wanted to add, doesn't it seem the last three or four games we have not safety help over the top on the long passes.

Also noticed watching Worilds all night that he was putting pressure on Flaco. A few times Flaco had all day was when Lebeau change the defense and had Worilds loop around a rush from the inside which he is not as effective at and Flaco had the time to throw the deep ball. We took away our best pass rusher and what he does best.

Watching that botched FG a couple of times, it almost seeemed to me like McBriar called for the snap and it wasn't snapped when he called for it. It seemed to me like he had to call for it twice. And since kicking is all about timing, it's possible that Suisham saw McBriar call for the ball and started his motion, assuming the kick would be there on time.

Agree with you. I was shocked that the announcers were saying that we should be killing clock at the end of that drive and that it would have been beneficial for us not to get the earlier TDs. You can't play as if the 2 point conversion was a given. We needed to leave 2-3 minutes left on the clock and save atleast 2 time-outs, just in case.

You're right. It looked as if he was giving a hard count, maybe to draw the Ravens off side, unfortunately its Suisham he fooled.

You can pretty much bank on it that if Collinsworth is favoring a strategy, the correct approach is to do the complete opposite.

Clock play management was fine, we never would have gotten the ball back with enough time to do anything with it, they were playing for overtime, I have no problem with that approach. If we scored with 2 minutes left, which is a large assumption by the way that we could have scored that quick, the Ravens could have won it on a fg. People are saying that the 2pt conversion isn't a forgone conclusion, yeah well neither is the fact that we could have gotten the ball back or even stopped them from kicking a FG.

For me the frustration with Sanders has been the fact that him and Ben just can not get on the same page. There's just no chemistry whatsoever. The Bell play was huge because Ben said that he picked Sanders because he was trying to target that backup corner they had. Regardless of whether it was a tough catch or not it went right through his hands. In the NFL you HAVE to make those catches. BUT if the fg unit could have simply kicked a fg earlier in the game all of that might not have mattered. OR if our corners could cover guys deep that might not have mattered. Sanders is just overall bad from a general perspective to me.

The Steelers couldn't stop the Ravens the whole game from getting into FG range. That had no bearing on the game.
