I'm not sure if everyone saw this article and I was really surprised no one started a thread about it. But apparently Rod Woodson thinks that Terrell Davis deserves the Hall of Fame more than Jerome Bettis and said he would vote for Davis over the bus. I wouldn't. I LOVED TD but I think that he didn't get to put together enough of a resume to make it to Canton. It's not the Hall of POTENTIAL. It is the Hall of FAME and Jerome is synonymous with pounding and bruising running. Also I think Jerome was the last of a dying breed and represented the tradition of what a power run game has been in the history of the NFL. I just wanted to get your guys take on this. I'm trying not to be a homer and I love Rod Woodson but I just disagree on this point. What do you guys think?

Did Rod even play with the Bus... I don't think he did if I'm not mistaken. He was too busy playing for the Ravens or Raiders...

If Ward or Porter said that I would be surprised though....

No he didn't but to me it would be a toss up. Which one is eligle first?

LC Greenwood should have been in there before he died though. Total disgrace.

The Bus has been snubbed twice now. One of the years Curtis Martin got in. But the bus retired as the 5th leading rusher and how can that guy not be in the Hall? Payton is in. Emmitt is in. Barry Sanders. Curtis Martin is in. LT will be in there too so why say that the bus doesn't belong?

Bus will get in, it may take awhile though.... I would be highly shocked if he doesn't.

Oh I know. I was just saying my reasoning for why I think he does and I would present this to Rod Woodson if I could.

The Bus will get in. So will Terrell Davis. It's just a matter of time and who you ask. There are Bronco supporters who will throw stats out like there are Steelers supporters who will do exactly the same. It's virtually a toss up and whoever the last homer voting is.

T.D. didn't play long enough. Jerome should have gone in this year instead of Warren, "Jabba the Hutt" Sapp!

Yeah, I think Bus should have gone in before Curtis Martin to be honest... Maybe I didn't see Martin play enough, but he never impressed me as a player, maybe because he never played on great teams.

I really don't think TD will get in. The reason I don't is because Sterling Sharp isn't in and he was the same kinda player. He was great but injuries ended his career and the Hall has no mercy for guys like that. That's why I would be surprised if TD made it in. I loved him and think he deserves it but I don't think those elitists voters will put him in.

I liked him a lot. He was just one of those guys that was really quiet but always had great numbers. He just wasn't flashy. Thomas Jones actually reminds me of him really.

Are you guys sure your Steelers fans? Woodson most certainly played with the Bus in 1996. They both made the Pro Bowl that season.
For the other person, Rod went to the 49ers after he left the Steelers.

This is typical of Rod Woodson dissing the Steeler organization. I think the guy is still bitter about being let go because he was going to cost too much. He is basically full of shiite if he thinks Davis should get in before Bettis. Bettis has nearly twice as many yards. It's not even close.

As for Martin getting in - I never took much issue with that and think the guy is very deserving. Over 14000 yards and a key thing about Martin is he was true multi-purpose back with over 500 receptions, averaging about 50 a year.

In Rod's defense though he did say once on NFL Network that if he could suit back up for any of his former teams the Steelers would be the one. He also helped out this year in camp too didn't he?

I believe both JB and TD belong in the hall.

JB is obvious. TD may not have had the longevity. But no RB was as dominant as he was each and every year he played. High quality, if not the quantity. Denver never wins a SB without him.

    But I'd vote Bettis first.

Problem I see is TD played at Denver and we saw what numbers noname RB's put up when he was out or after he was gone in that system.

Add in the fact that it was the notorious cut line play years.....

The Bus was good with the Rams then came over and played a hell of a career for Pittsburgh. No comparison to me. Read an article that talked about his daily routine after the games and he could barely get out of bed the day after late in his career, but he still got out there by Sunday. He played through more injuries as well.

This is a no brainer. There has never and I mean never a guy that was so big, but his feet always looked nimble like he was dancing. The Bus is a huge man that ran like a 200 lber. just look at the picture of him literally running over a future HOFer Brian Urlacher for a touchdown in the snow. They ran the table on the regular season and won the Super Bowl from that 6th seed always on the road in his last season. TOP THAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
