According to Steelers Depot and Dick Lebeau Gay will play a lot....We will have to score 50 to beat the Jets...

Is there no one on this Team the practice squad or somewhere who is better than Gay ?If not 0 and 16 could be a real possibilty, his man will be open all night...

I'm not a William Gay fan, quite the opposite, but I have to admit he played pretty well while Allen was out.

I was thinking the exact same thing in fact when Allen took over is when things really went downhill for the defense.

Contiues to illustrate the absolutely putird job Colbert AND Tomlin have done in the past 5 drafts. Not ONE corner worth a damn. Gay would not start on 25 NFL teams as a corner. Hell, the Cardinals cut him. Both of these guys have to go. STAT!!

Yeah i see it the same way...Gay always plays off and can't close the Gap ,he will be the safety valve for Geno ...

He bites on every double move the only reason he looked good for a few weeks is the other Teams didn't attack him...

With a Rookie QB they will have him coached up to find Gay when they need a big play....

Big play William Gay will earn his name just not in the right way...

If he was so bad why would the qbs not attack him? That just doesn't make sense.

I am in the Gay camp as well. I never actually wanted him to leave. He is not great but he is indeed better then Allen at the moment

I am going to call a pick for Gay in the Jets game. I know .. Crazy right? lol

Because we scheme around it normally...We don't have the guys to cover his horrible play now IMO...He will get torched, again I hope I am wrong...

How can we scheme around him covering? One way or another he is going to be covering a guy unless he just drops back 50 yards and just stands there. It seems to me you are making excuses to hate the guy. In fact he has made more good plays then bad this year. Allen has been getting torched. If we could scheme around gay then why not Allen?

We really can't scheme around either..Nether Gay nor Allen can cover a good #2 WR or a good TE IMO....Now add to that we can't get to the QB and we can't stop the run we will be forced to keep Troy in the box and leave Gay on an Island...

My point is the Jets know all of this and will take full advantage anytime our #2 CB is alone with no help, which will be a lot unfortunately ,,IMO...

And the kicker to this is who do we spy on Geno ? The kid can scramble really well...I just don't like it,it seems very thin to me...

gay is doing fine and we should be glad he's here.

Curtis friggin brown is the one everyone should hate on. he's done absolutely nothing.

sheesh, everyone expects 3 shutdown corners, that never allow a catch all season or they suck.:cool:

I only want 2 shut down CB'S...We will see Gay get exposed tomorrow in a big way...I played CB in HS and College so I understand that position a lot....

Gay is a 4th. or 5th. CB at best ,being forced to play the 2 and 3 spot and going into a game that Features a strong TE opposite their #1 WR with a running QB....On paper it looks really bad to me..

I will give Lake a lot of credit he has helped Gay to become a servicable CB if against weaker opponents, but as stated the film tells me he will be attacked early and often...

gay shouldn't be on TE's much. that's for our ILB'ers and safeties. gay will be fine as the nickel. we need our one and two to play the way they are capable and we shouldn't have to worry about gay having to cover a guy all day. our D line needs to get a push and that's something that hasn't been happening. do the right things with the front 5 and the rest will take care of itself. even the best corners give up catches with no pass rush. that's not gays fault.

I have to agree with this...Similar to what I am saying the key is everything around him, because if that don't work then Gays skill set wont be enough to control the bleeding much less stop it...

How many teams have two shut down corners???

The Steelers brought Gay back to be the third CB and to push younger players. I don't believe 4th or 5th CB's are in the league for 7 years. Gay may not be a top notch CB but he's proven to be a solid number 3 CB for the Steelers. For whatever reasons, Allen hasn't performed well. The Steelers are hoping that Gay can play better then Allen. What do they have to lose at this point?
