I am sure The Rooney's are wondering this today. Do you feel our roster(talent) is better than what you are seeing on the field?

No. That's why so many people around here are so upset, because they have expectations that are too high for this team.

Seems to me we're either too young (OL) or too old at key positions.

Actually we played inspired Football last night for the first time all year..Miller being back was a huge plus, that effort could have beat every Team in the NFL if only we would have protected the Football..

This Team can still compete ,they just have to be focused..

We should of did some roster changes.

    Moye should of been playing.

Beechum should be starting at one of the tackle positions.

Wheaton needs to see the ball more but I think the game is too fast for him right now.
He has that puzzled look on his face.

Will Johnson and the other Johnson TE type should see the ball more.

Put Redman to bed. He is just a shell of his former self. Don't know what happen to him.

Felix Jones and Dwyer are the running backs for this team.

we can ask and want to see changes all we want, but the bottom lines is, the coaching staff isnt going to make them.

to me its obvious that Moye and Wheaton should be playing more. AB had a huge game, but Sanders and Cotch did next to nothing. Ben threw threw the ball up for Sanders a couple times and he couldnt bring it down. this is not a knock on Sanders, but he isnt big enough to make those plays and they need a guy that Ben can just throw it to knowing he can make a play.

Ben had a weird game. threw for a ton of yards and made some great throws. the int was a perfect pass to Cotch, but Cotch never looked. the 2 fumbles by Ben where bad, but he had zero time and was trying to make a play, but he needs to do a better job of protecting the ball.

the defense was fine, but another game with no big plays.

i dont have the solution, but im sure we arent going to see major changes.

Find good offensive linemen through FA and NOT the draft. Oh wait... We don't have any money. But I think that's the answer. It's OBVIOUS we can't draft them so we should get them off FA. Linemen should be the ONLY players we take in FA. Let someone else develop them because it's obvious we can't. Then pick them up in FA and I think that might help. We just happen to not have any money. If guys would take pay cuts that would be nice.

I agree. It's a personnel issue. We don't have a "number 1" ANYTHING! We have a number 1 TE but he's still recovering. We MIGHT have a number 1 rb but he's still recovering. We MIGHT have an up and coming corner but he's still recovering...again... We have a number 1 center but he's still recovering...for a year... It's a personnel issue on offense and an age issue on defense. It's not that we are too old or too young. It's that we are both on defense.

The defense did play well, except when it counted and they needed a stop late. Then they let Jay Cutler do his best RGIII impersonation running up the field and then his best Earl Campbell impersonation when he put his shoulder into one of our softie DBs, Golden.

I think if someone would "accidentally loose" a truck load of steroids in front of the Steelers locker room that'd be nice.

im not blaming the defense at all for this lose, but why cant they make any big plays? they have forced ZERO turnovers this season and have 3 sacks. thats not gonna get it done.

Those are million dollar questions right there. Why can't we force turnovers or produce sacks? Why do we have a -20 turnover differential so far this year? That's mind boggling! And why does it seem that our defense can always make a stop UNLESS it's late in the game and we desperately need one??!!

it is bizzare. i know its easy to blame the offense for everything, but this defense isnt very good either and they are old. atleast the offense is young and can improve. maybe, but the defense is old and as long as DL is there we arent going to see many changes.

First and foremost Ben being reckless with the ball last night gave the bears more points then Ben scored, his number 1 job is to protect the ball, and he failed miserably and was the direct cause in losing this game: Decastro had his best game as a pro, he made less mistakes in this game and made some really good blocks: Adams was terrible: A Brown had his best game as a pro, of course he had to go off on Haley last week to get involved in the offense, and he delivered big time: Heath had a solid game considering it was his first game back after 10 months of tough rehab and no training camp, he caught 3 nice passes and averaged over 11 yards a catch, nice first game back Heath: But 3 good performers cant carry this offense when the other 8 aren't doing their job, and their QB is playing like a rookie throwing pick sixes and giving up fumbles for TDs: They look disorganized and that totally falls on poor coaching starting with Tomlin and the rest of his staff not doing their jobs..........

But we always turn the ball over, that's what we do. We aren't a disciplined team and we're not a focused team. It like we find new, creative ways of turning the ball over. That first fumble by Ben, he simply threw the ball away. I know it wasn't on purpose, but those are the types of things that happen to this team. We are a turnover machine.

I really don't think we can say we have a number 1 center anymore. Pouncey has been mediocre lately. IMO when he gets back he should be switched to guard and Velasco kept as our center.

IMHO there are so many problems right now, and those are just the ones we know about. Are there other problems in the locker room? This team didn't handle the small problems in the beginning. If you ignore a leak in your roof its not long before you have to replace the entire roof. I think that is where we are now. I really don't think that there is one answer. Maybe it is time to start all over again.

As far as Ben, personally I think he is trying too hard, taking chances, forcing things. He is doing his best to make something happen on his own. Which, the philosophy of that is questionable. He knows that things are not good right now. He plays the game and he watches the films. He knows how bad things are. I have never been a Ben can do no wrong guy either. Just my thoughts.

To many wasted downs....its one thing to keep a team honest...its another to run into a wall repeatedly.

Whats the definition of insanity?...doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

Its all about take aways..... the Steelers are -9 in takeaways...and have gotten ZERO

Ben was pushing tonight...He still needs to trust his guys...but ball security is going to have to be stressed....They are not good enough to overcome mistakes...and the defense is not good enough to create them.

I've seen enough Redman...what ever the reason..he is a shell of his former self...can't run the ball...can't pass block...he is a rag doll out there....sit him down....deactivate him and dress LiBerty Bell....at least they won't be tempted to put him in the game.

Start Dwyer.....he isn't as shifty as Jones...but he is easily the best back on the team....got some wheels...some bulk..some shifty...and can pass block....but I honestly and praying with all I got that LiBerty Bell is the REAL DEAL....we all better hope that he is.

DJ had a heck of a game...much better blocker than Paulson..and actually caught some passes....

I would sign Velasco to a two year deal right now.

    Please get healthy Cortez Allen....

We have no speed rushers....while Jones is showing promise...he doesn't have that turn the corner ability of Harrison.....Woodley is almost pure bull rush.....Breather looked better giving a breather to Jones and Wood

Williams would get the nod over Wilson the rest of the way...He will not be confused with Patrick Willis anytime soon...but I think he is easily a better player than Wilson

Everyone is talking COACHING changes.....I think I would rather make a few roster changes.

OUT WHIMPER - IN REID FRAGEL Bengals PS
Whimper might be the vet....but we all ..including the coaches...are terrified he is going to end up on the field for any length of time. Fragel is a former TE...can be that blocking TE...with an actual chance to catch a pass...as well as a backup RT....Its worth a flyer on Fragel now if for no other reason than they are obviously not happy with their T's....its like adding an extra draft pick from last year for free.

OUT - TERRANCE GARVIN IN DONTAY MOCH Cardinals PS
Moch is a strong ST player...and would give the Steelers the pure speed rusher they don't have now.

OUT PAULSON or PALMER - IN REGGIE DUNN
Heath is back...no need for more than 3 TE's
Dunn however is the speed this team is lacking the fact that he can run that deep route faster than Sanders and Brown will open up the entire O.....plus saves Brown for return duties.

:this!: We can start by trimming some of the fat on these enormous contracts. We will have to make some hard cuts next year. Say goodbye to Kiesel, Taylor, Clark, Worilds, Carter and see if Woodley would take a pay cut. Have Ben restructure AGAIN! so we can free up some money to get better guys to protect him. I think he would be all for it.

Offer a trade with the Browns for Joe Thomas. Give them our first round pick and Sanders. Or trade Sanders now for any decent left tackle. Definitely got to be better than what we have now.

Haha...yeah the Browns a division rival...while not very smart in most cases...would never take that trade....not many teams that have a franchise LT would.

definitely some good points...i would think Palmer would be the first cut to bring in another body. Dont know much about Moch/Fragel...but yeah.
