This article makes some of the more extreme people around here seem like Julia Child. I googled his name just to see if people were dogging on him and it would appear so. I wonder if any of these tweets are from those who frequent this board??? LOL! I also wonder if Tomlin ever sees these tweets. I'm not really sure how Twitter works even though I technically have it. HA.

I'm not a fan of Twitter, Facebook and most all social media due to the idiotic instant knee jerk reactions that alot of the people who use them subject themselves to.

I couldn't imagine being a celebrity in that environment.

With that being said. If Tomlin does see this and it doesn't motivate him to right the ship by beating the Bengals in their house on MNF then the future really would be questionable with him at the helm.

I don't care who the next player up is, they all need to step up!

We all go a bit crazy. Some of us more than others. ;)

I try to avoid posting on Twitter for that very reason.

Nice article, because the video at the bottom of Keith Oberman does put things a tiny bit more into perspective. Not saying it applies to us. We have seriously dark clouds over our heads. But maybe the wind will change...

Well here's a NOT so nice article. It also calls Colbert in to question.

Do you think the Rooney's would throw Colbert overboard before Tomlin? I do. I really say no matter what Tomlin is safe for a long time.

Every fan base has it's faction of idiots that constantly call for the firing of the coach. Then the coach gets fired and in short order the same idiots want the new coach fired. Don't lump yourself into that group BFT, those people are morons.

I'm not. I was just saying that there are those people out there. Check out that Bleacher Report article and tell me what you think. You know I've said over and over that Tomlin isn't going anywhere. But I'll ask you what I asked harristotle. Do you think they'd fire Colbert first? I do. I think they have that much loyalty to their coaches.

I don't think Colbet is going anywhere either, I think Colbert just hit on one of the best drafts in a long long time, the kind of draft that can propel you right back to the top.

I think as fans we should make our displeasure known but this team can rally. It's a dysfunction I have...I keep thinking somebody who knows what they are doing is tending the wheel. Better them than me, I'd be sh!$$!@# bricks about now.

I have never been a "Fire the Coach" kind of guy. I think its what has made the Steelers organization great over the years - consistency and continuity. Sure, co-ordinators can come and go, but the guy at the helm of the ship, to me, has to have been there for a while. Look at the organizations that change over every 3 years. They don't go anywhere. If you have a good coach, keep him.

That being said, If you are going to say "Fire Tomlin", bring a name to the table. Who are you going to replace him with? That's the key. Firing the coach for the sake of firing the coach doesn't work, but if there is a suitable replacement, then it may make sense.

I try not to go too crazy one way or the other, and try to see what's in front of my rather than just following the bandwagon.

There's a lot of twitter bashing here... But twitter has given me an opportunity to talk to some really knowledgeable Steelers fans. I often chat with the guys from the Steel City Blitz podcast, as well as the writers at Behind the Steel Curtain. A lot of these podcast dudes though will often sort of mock Steeler Nation, and laugh that they want Tomlin fired "after one game."

I tend to think these guy are the extreme in the opposite direction. It seems it doesn't matter how long Tomlin loses, they give him a free pass. I'm not ready to get out my torch and pitchfork yet, but if this season ends up like I'm starting to feel like it will (likely something like 6-10), then I think his seat is hot.

HOWEVER... The national media loves to call us old, but they're really just ignorant. This team is too young, and the rebuild effort is underway. I'm encouraged by this draft class... but my biggest concern is our offensive line. Tomlin HAS heard the criticism and addressed our biggest weakness by spending 4 picks in the top 2 rounds on the offensive line... I don't know if it's their talent evaluation or coaching, but it hasn't worked out. Maybe it's time to look to free agency for OL help.

Read my last post. I'm with you that you have to give a guy time to steer out of it.

That being said, I think you give Tomlin through 2014, and if we stink again then it's time to go. As for a name? I don't know, I'm not paid to know. The landscape changes SO quickly that 2 years from now the names will change completely. But the Steelers seem to like grabbing a young, hungry, defensive-minded coordinator... Although I have to admit, I wouldn't mind someone like a Mike Munchak who clearly knows what he knows (OL play) and implements his scheme (went and got some bruisers up front)...

    If I'm deciding today?

Mike Zimmer - Doesn't fit the young/hungry bill, but I love this guy. I live in Cincinnati so I'll admit I see him more than others, but he's a no bull**** kinda guy that knows how to get the best out of his players. When you watch hard knocks though you can see that his players really respect him. He's brought in scrubs like Vontaze Burfict, Pacman Jones, Terrence Newman, Reggie Nelson and revived their careers.

Ray Horton - He knows Steelers football, and has had great success as a defensive coordinator.

I don't want Tomlin fired but Tecmo Bowl Todd (stole that from Mark Madden) can go. Kurt Warner made him look smart in AZ but he has screwed up two offenses since.

I have been a long defender of Tomlin but he has a lot of work in front of him. We are a very young team in a transition. The rebuild is under way but there is enough talent on this team that we should not be a 4-12 or worse team. Right now at least on the offensive side of the ball we look like a mid level high school team. I hope Tomlin and crew get this figured out this year and week one will soon be just a bad dream. But if not I hope the Rooney's take a hard look at all aspects of the organization. I am thankful I don't have to make those decisions.

I'm not a fire the coach person either but its unavoidable to think it at this point. If not Tomlin, then who goes? Something has to change. This is not a knee jerk reaction. This team has had issues since the Packers super bowl.

I don't think it's out of the question to have doubts. Colbert has been one of my points for some time.

we have offensive line problems. we have had offensive line problems since he got here. he has never built a good offensive line anywhere he's been. we have had 3 O-line coaches since he and tomlin hooked up together.

throwing top picks at the problem is the thing to do, but if you throw the wrong top picks at the problem, you still have a problem.

I like this suggestion alot. I think the fact he is an offensive guy is a huge plus! I've liked this guy ever since he got in the grill of Marsha Brady! Bring him on!!

No, I don't think they would throw him before Tomlin. And I'm not necessarily advocating for Tomlin to get fired just yet either. All I'm saying is I'm concerned that what I'm seeing is starting to become a trend.

WoW!!! Let`s get fired up over an article in the "Bleacher Report"!!!

JUst kidding... I`m more than a little concerned myself...
I`m not used to seeing us have such problems with the basics of the game (don`t turn the ball over, don`t committ dumb penalties, etc...)..
Which makes it easy to buy into "panic mode", like this article is advocating...
Me, I chalk it up to being spoiled, and expecting nothing but the best, for so long, that I freak out when we play like one of the "normal" tams in the league...
    That said...
I have a hard time arguing with most of that article...
I want us to get back to being EXCEPTIONAL....
Where, an article like that, can`t be written about us..
And I think that takes the head Coach, AND the players to fix that....
    Bu that`s just me.,..
    GO STEELERS!!!:herewego!::yeehaw:
