Not your fathers old Pittsburgh Steelers!

I commend the Steelers for trying to upgrade
their team, when was the last time you have seen
the PGH Steelers make this many moves after cut down?
Just like I and others have commented on,ART II
has ratcheted up the intensity/accountability of all
people involved in creating this years football team.
Lets hope our scouting department/player evaluaters
if the situation presents itself, that they can bring in more help.

 

I mentioned something pertaining to this in the thread about malecki being cut, but not for the same reason you did ward. i'm wondering why we have kept malecki or butler, or several other guys around all through camp and on the PS when we already knew full well we didn't want them?

shouldn't we have replaced them before this with anyone else to see if they were better then what we already knew we didn't want? I think that's terrible indecision by our front office. we knew we were already down on depth. shouldn't this have been done in camp to at least see if other bodies could play? very strange way to go about the team building process.

 

I don't think that is exactly the way this happens. To me these guys we were willing to live with, but were hoping for something better. Butler was the best on the market at the time, so you live with him or Moorman. Once another guy gets cut you like....you go get him. Same for Malecki. They knew he was flawed. He had short arms and wasn't as strong as they wanted, but Legursky left and there wasn't a lot on the market. Someone became available they liked and they went out and got him.

 

This sounds about right.
