God Bless you man. After her pilot ep where she became an independent NFL Content Creator, I left that link so fast that not even Troy Polamalu would have believed it. Kay Adams is like the classic statement of the Tiger and Jungle.


You can take a corporate worker out of corporate but you cannot take the corporate out of the worker.


Kay Adams has been rooted in her ways for a long time. 2024 is when she got exposed big time. Been downhill ever since.

 

Didn't dismiss Trent. Trent is going to cartwheel to Canton when he retires. It is just a matter of where one ranks him all time.

 

I like Kay Adams. She's the national spokesperson for Dick's (Sporting Goods that is).

 

I see Garrett got a superior rating even when he had zero tackles and zero pressures. But he had 11 "theoretical pressures". What the hell does that mean? I guess Sydney Sweeney will be my "theoretical" date tomorrow night. I mean in theory any thing can happen.

The same thing that has happened with the likes of Mina Kimes and others who cannot see the forest through the trees; power and authority without responsibility or accountability. One example is in 2024 where she called the Ravens the best team in the entire conference... when they clearly were not; Kansas City, even at that time still better and the argument could have been made that Buffalo was as well at the time. Sounds like a lot of nothing on the surface given how Sports Media as a whole is sensationalist and performative nowadays.


The problem isn't Kay making a statement nor it is doubling down on it. Kay using her social platforms to present herself as a monolith of knowledge, insight and wisdom is what I have a massive issue with. Even worse, disagree with her takes and she uses that against you as the audience. Again, that alone doesn't sound all that damning.... until you realize how powerful social media is and the influence it has.


Speaking of Mina Kimes, she is far worse than Kay. However, Mina is a topic... for another day.

 

I didn't think you were dismissing Trent Williams at all. I just took the opportunity to point out how awesome that guy has been for a long time. How I wish the Steelers can find one of those guys and be set for over a decade at left tackle.

 

Not sure if Troy Fautanu can be as good as Trent but I do forsee a future in which Troy Fautanu is an All Pro. There is simply way too many traits Troy possesses that were showcased already last season. This Preseason was rough for him but I attribute that towards going back towards Left Tackle in comparison to where he was at Right Tackle.


Differences in terms of leg to anchor, which hands that strike first, where the feet, knees and hips need to be during pass protection sets, etc. Game two against New York was much better than Game 1.

 

I don't think Fautanu can ever be as powerful as Williams. Again, Williams is just different.

I do like Troy's athleticism for the position and you make good points about his traits and what he needs to work on with technique. Can he put it all together is the question. He needs to do many things right on every play to get to a level that approaches what Trent Williams has done. I hope he can succeed in that quest. I think the talent is there to become a very good player but there is still some work to do. Let's hope he takes some of those steps with development this season.

 

Pure strength?! Absolutely not. Fautanu has a rock solid base and possesses very good leverage but Trent is a literal Tree Stump that moves. Good luck uprooting him.


One more good thing to take from tomorrow's game; no James Pearce Jr or Jalon Walker. Samson Ekubam and ZaDarius Smith are no pushovers but Troy has faced similar types of rushers in the past; namely in the division.


I believe Troy will have a great first game. As you said though, he has to put it together.

 

Not in this one! To assault someone I think you need to hit somebody. vs the pass he had 0 sacks, and, 0 hits. Against the run, he recorded 0 solo tackles. 0-0-0.

Although to be fair, it's more like "you need to hit somebody between the whistles". Making up some crazy bull**** no one else on the field heard and smoking someone in the head with a helmet wouldn't count on the stat sheet...although you never know, I think Ray Lewis used to show up on the stat sheet when he wasn't even playing, so who knows.
