Winning series won't cut it at this late stage. Your 10 game win streak is best they can hope for. Too many teams playing well or just average ahead of them. Was hoping Griffin and Cruz returns would help but Horwitz, Reynolds, Lowe and Valdez have cooled off considerably. Pitching obviously has gotten better for the most part (except yesterday).

There is a guy on cruise who looks like Skenes. He sticks out since most of us are old. I was hoping he had a hot lady like Skenes but he goes the other way. He said he gets told that a lot. I told him congrats this morning on pitching great game last night

According to their runs scored and runs allowed, the 2026 Pirates should have a 75-69 record. Bad luck or a bad bullpen will cause a team to have an actual record significantly below their Pythagorean projection.
I hope they don’t fire the GM or manager. This is the best product they have put on the field in years, but due to injuries and sticking with a few key players way too long, few will realize that.
They are in danger of actually finishing with a winning record.
I wish they could sign Lowe to maybe a two year contract, but I greatly doubt that happens. It will be difficult to replace his pop in the middle infield.
At least we have been spared the retread nonproductive first baseman of the year the last several seasons. No Rowdy Tellez, Carlos Santana, Daniel Vogelbach, etc. Instead we had the nonproductive retread DH of the year, Ozuna.

Lack of hitting vs. left handlers is particularly galling. There are plenty of players with a large platoon differential favoring facing lefties who are available, all year long. They aren’t even expensive. Anyone could see what was happening and it wouldn’t have cost much to fix it.
BP got better after an overhaul, which should have taken place at least a month sooner.
With a few moves (that we were all screaming for), this could have been a playoff team.
