I wouldn't call London and Pitts poor receivers.

If you lose to a team, at home that doesn't even know who their Qbs is right now, and who was bad last year, I think thats pretty scary on opening day. Especially since we almost never lose on opening day the last 10 years. Remember they have a new HC also

Agree ,but I've heard nobody pick the Falcons over us this week. Hell they don't even know who their Qb is yet

It would be scary but at the same time, the patriots lose against a terrible raiders team last year....The steelers have also massive struggle in home opener since 2018.

2-6 in home opener since that time

We have won every opening game but two in the last 10 years. 49ers, and NE is our only season opening loses in 10 years.

What will happen to this board if we somehow lose to the Falcons?

Steelers aren’t the Steelers of old
Got a high of 11 wins
    Low of 6 wins
A lot of uncertainty going into this season
    OL
    Secondary
    Wrs
    Qb
    Will Watt reappear?
These questions are also on a lot of the beat writers minds too

    Neither would I.

Fun fact; Kyle Pitts isn't a Receiever either. Not directed at you the same.

Jalon Walker and James Pearce being out doesn't help. Gervon Dexter Sr. was a nice addition but I have faith in both Mason McCormick and Spencer Anderson.

I think the good news is, our first 3-4 opponents aren't exactly squads with top rated pass rushing groups. The schedule makers definitely did us a favor for breaking in this OL. I'd put Dunker in there, if he's healthy. I'd rather break him and IMax now as opposed to after the bye when the fronts will be significantly better.

I don't like it when we're favored by everyone like this.

Smells like Vegas is setting something up.

Hopefully, I feel better after our real offense takes at least one snap together.

I could see them starting Max at RT to start the season, but the local media seems to think Dunker will be inactive on gameday.

No excuse to lose to Atlanta the perfect opponent for the Steelers to open the season, neither Tua or Penix are mobile and they have no pass rush.

I worry that our OL is going to take time to gel.

That our QB hasn't taken any snaps with our top 2 WRs (although at least he played with DK last year).

And if our O is slow to score points (which I think the two points above suggest might be the case), the game probably comes down to explosive plays. We don't really have an explosive playmaker.

Last year's number of 15+ yard plays.

DK had 19 15+ yard plays
    Gainwell had 14
    Warren had 11
    Muth had 11

Robins had 42 15+ yard plays.
London had 22 15+ yard receptions.
    Pitts had 17.

If it's a close game, these big plays can be the difference between winning and losing.

Hopefully, our D is better at getting off the field than they were last year too.

I don't mind us being favored. Their QB situation is a mess. But they have much better "skill" players than we do I think.

We saw how Tua played against the Steelers last year when he's pressured.

Hopefully we can prevent the dump offs to Robinson in these kinds of situations.

My guess is that they'll do everything they can to avoid playing Tua.
