And it's still very possible that MR gets traded once the right QB goes down.

Another reason not being discussed for keeping Howard, hes competition, he’ll push Allar. Instead of “here are the keys Drew” he has someone vying for his job now.

Jones was certainly developmental and I frown on developmental players as first round picks. They should be Day 1 starters. That was not going to be Jones. And truth be told MaxI fits the same category. Very developmental for a 1st round pick (I am guessing that is why the Steelers initial interest was Lemon).

I'm not sure but how many draft picks have the Steelers used on offensive linemen in the last 3 years? Seems like we fish in that pond a lot. We need to see some of those picks turn out well. This offensive line has been an issue for a while. So we'll see how this guy does. He was rated like the 7th overall tackle in the draft. You can look at ratings anyway you want but I'm not convinced at this point. So we'll see how it goes

Max was rated 7th best because he lacked experience. The Steelers had him rated as one of the best OT’s after the Senior Bowl. They were really high on him. He is going to have growing pains but watching him play you can tell he has good feet and he is a lot more powerful than Jones or Cook are. He has a much better punch and better anker. He is more stout and thicker than those guys as well.

Ok. I think heard some of that same stuff about Jones as well. What you posted indicates he's a project. I'm hoping in the next two weeks we'll see him improve to the point where he can start game 1.

Well I don’t think anyone would dispute that he isn’t somewhat of project. The sure thing at OT doesn’t last that long in the first round where we were drafting. I do think he actually has more college playing experience than Jones does. I think he will have better coaching than Jones did with Campen and Evans coaching him now. I also think he is naturally bigger, stronger and more explosive than Jones was and arguably has better or just as good of feet as Jones did. The fact he develo-ed so quickly in college is promising and hopefully he can take that next step and develop quickly here as well.

    Nope.

More like keeping good depth. Frazier will be getting paid. McCormick is a bit more tricky to figure out. Of that, I will both grant and award you there. He is a starting Guard but not a Top 10 one.

MM was brought here to help rebuild this roster and they have given him 5 years to get it done. I don't necessarily agree with all the moves and cuts at this point, but I'm willing to see this season through. At least we're not set up to tank. We have playmakers and I think it will be a fun season to watch.

Baltimore was essentially in a lose lose situation. Either keep Kyle Hamilton or Tyler Linderbaum. Unpopular opinion but I would have extended Tyler while placing the tag on Kyle. Kyle could have gotten extended the year after.

Pittsburgh doesn't have that dilemma. McCormick already has a contingency plan in Gennings Dunker. Baltimore never had one.

They basically had to rebuild the whole line and they had to go back to the well because of Jones not panning out.

It takes time to build the trenches. I think they have assembled some good talent there. Frazier is being talk up as being one of the best centers in the league.

We’ll see if the rest pan out but if they do, between the Oline and Dline, theres your foundation for the team. Allar will have a lot better chance of succeeding with a great line in front of him than a great safety.
