Howard i believe would be snagged. I think he showed enough that would get the fingers itchy of some teams.

I wasn't expecting them to keep two rookie DL.

I was a big Howard supporter. After watching him Play my thoughts have changed drastically. He doesn't see the field well at all and the game is way too fast for him. Hopefully im wrong because he has tremendous character, but I don't think people will be knocking down the doors for him at this moment.

If I was Lew and Steelers want to resign I'd tell the
Steelers to go take a slow boat to China.

Probably because Eli offers more special teams value over Lew is why he made the 53, I would like to see him get signed to the practice squad though.

I get the love for Nichols, but I'm far more concerned with safety and inside linebacker. Hopefully, they are bringing back Roberts, but safety does not look great with Elliott on IR. What is the plan? Jenkins couldn't even start for the Browns last year. Play Ramsey out of position again?

McCarthy put a stamp on the Tomlin era by signing every draft pick. Took him to the train station. Steelers 4.0 starts now!

Sounds like Paul picked the under for likelihood that the Steelers keep 4 QB's on the predictive market. Sad..

I’m not sure how much Eli showed in the preseason, but it is intriguing to think about his versatility (if it can convert to the NFL).

I wonder why the Packers didn't trade for Nichols instead of Kaleb Johnson. Maybe we didn't offer Lew because we want him on the practice squad?

Yup. One of the things I strongly dislike about Khan is how he repeats his mistakes. He left the team without a No. 2 receiver in 2024 and 2025, and now this is a second consecutive season with only one viable option at safety.

Elliot is the other viable option which they are saving on IR

Elliot will be fresh and healthy for 2nd half of season and possible playoff run

If they really want him they can raid him from the Steelers PS when he gets there.

Elliott is the only sure fire guy on the IR right now to be promoted to the roster as soon as he's off IR. The replacement candidates at that point become McCollum/Hoffman (dealer's choice), Jobity, Echols, or potentially Jenkins. They also could feel good enough halfway through the season about where we are health wise to try to trade Mason to a team that suffers a QB injury.

My pick for gameday inactives are Howard/Allar/Dunker/Jobity/Everette. Could see Rubio inactive instead of Jobity, Hoffman/McCollum inactive instead of Dunker, or Echols inactive instead of Everette.

Good for Heidenreich and Jobity. I thought that the last PS game might've earned Heidenreich the role. It became pretty apparent that he was fighting with Homer for the job and they are likely handing him a significant ST role (starting KR alongside Wetjen and Punt Protector). Nice to see him win the job. Jobity did great work in PS too. Good to see an undrafted guy play well and force his way onto the team.

I think it came down to Heidenreich's ST role. I'm not sure what value Nichols brings on ST, but Heidenreich is now the starting punt protector and likely kick returner (alongside Wetjen).

Well there is always Ramsey if they need him in a pinch.

IMHO they should just keep Ramsey at Safety. He can't handle the upper echelon of WR's in the league anymore in solo coverage.
