I guess the redshirt tag will be a thing of the past as all college players can now play 5 years in college. I wonder how many Steelers in camp are now eligible to return to college and sign a new multi-million dollar NIL deal to play another season?

$8,000 a week on a practice squad, or $5 million to return to college for another year???

Here's Why These Signed NFL Players Could Return To College Football | FOX Sports

Several athletes, including some who signed contracts with NFL teams, were granted a temporary restraining order by a Louisiana court that would make them eligible to return to college athletics, ESPN reported Wednesday.

On July 31, a federal court in Denver ruled that all high school class of 2022 athletes who exhausted their fourth season of college eligibility this spring are eligible for a fifth season this academic year.

The Big 10 and SEC have taken hard stances about member schools putting a player in their rosters who previously signed a pro contract. The penalties in the SEC are very harsh. Of course it would probably result in a lawsuit and who knows what kind of injunctions and stays these regional and state judges might make. Just one more f**ked up consequence of NIL and the portal. College athletics are a joke.

College basketball is even worse. The majority of the roster is turning over every year. TN basketball lost 11 players after last season. Including 7 who went in the portal. We were left with 2 scholarship players. They added 9 players in the portal and are spending $20M plus. Crazy times!
