Steelers to start Will Howard in preseason game vs. Jets

Cant put anyone on PS or he will be gone.

Keep 4 until an injury pushes a trade for MR

 

Don't know but Qbs get hurt all thr time so if a team needs a qb come get him

 

This makes sense to me and its what the preseason if for. Let’s see these kids in some 3rd and longs or 4th and short. Throw it all at them and see how they respond.

That would suck if the NFL Network cuts away from the Steelers game, but of course they have done this crap before for a preseason game.

 

There are a handful of teams with either a good backup and nothing else, or two QBs who are mediocer. A key injury to a starter could raise MRs value.

I saw a report/podcast about Mason getting a 2 year $11 million extension.

If Mason gets the extension that would mean the Steelers have 3 QBs under contract for next year, and I might start believing in the 4 QB theory, if McCarthy does truly believe that he is happy with his 2027 QB room to include Mason, Will and Drew.

As McCarthy said he generally only brings 3 QBs to camp, so maybe he is happy to hold an extra QB for 2026 if it means his 2027 QB room is completely set.
