Still have trouble believing the NY Jets had zero INT's last season. Almost impossible. Now watch them get 3-4 against us Friday night.:hehehe:

It should be a good barometer. Depending on how they play they could reverse it the next game to see who does what behind the starters. Winner gets to party at a PSU frat house and the loser has to shower with Jerry Sandusky.

    As it should be.

Have to see what Will Howard can do. For that matter, see if he can knock Mason off the number two spot for the backup role. Up to him.

Gonna be a major test for him! :herewego:

They didn't have a pick in their first pre-season game against the Bucs either.

Wish they had Metcalf and Pittman to throw to. Mount Washington, too.

Bernard and Tonyan look like keepers, but would like to see Howard and Allar throwing to the A team. Friermuth, too.

Just think....Ben had Plaxico, Ward and Randle El to throw to as a rookie.

Two fold perhaps, to see development but also to showcase for possible trade material?

Dropping my son off Saturday for his Sophomore year at PSU and he is in a frat. I asked him point blank would he have known to say GFY if his frat asked him to do that **** during pledging last year. I truly wonder because kids are so caught up in fitting in but you have to be one dumb mofo to have done that ****. They ruined their lives and anyone involved should be expelled and face criminal charges. The Dad lawyer facing tampering charges will be disbarred with several felony charges pending.

I wonder if Howard starting the first half means Howard is the front runner for #3 QB and Allar is likely sent to the practice squad.

I doubt it. If anyone gets sent to the practice squad I think it would be Howard. I really doubt that will happen as well. They're either going to keep all 4 QB's, or trade\cut Rudolph. I tend to think the latter.

Allar would be poached from the practice squad in seconds if he was placed on it.

This is great, something I hit on last week and was wondering if McCarthy would go that direction.

The QB room goes without saying that it is a disaster. This doesn't point to Aaron Rogers as he has been nothing but a very positive addition here.
    But he's 42.
I absolutely admire his interface with the offense, I don't think I've ever seen a aging QB take on such a role and give it 1/8th the effort Rogers has.
We have to solve the QB issue that Kahn and Tomin failed miserably at.
So it is time to measure Kahn's efforts by playing Allar and Howard.
I will say this, Allar is far, far and away more talented and it is obvious during the practices. His arm might be slightly better than Rogers' and Rogers can sling it with anyone, his issue is mobility.
Howard does have that knack of getting the ball where it needs to be though. He does not have that rocket arm.

So this is a good plan.
You can most definitely see McCarthy and staff coaching influence on these two..
Allar being a little more raw but taking to the coaching well.
Howard being a little more polished though not quite as talented.

I think a strong showing by these two does one of the following:
    1. Spells the end for Mason.
    2. Increases value for probably Howard. (I do think a team will bite)

I kind of think the progression would be to move on from Mason.
Allar steps in when Rogers ends his career.
    Howard becomes #2.

Agreed - when he last left, there weren’t a ton of teams knocking down his door (not needing to trade for him).

Same is true after his stint with Titans. He ended up coming back to us for a backup role.

I just don’t see another team trading for a mediocre backup.
