Like watching a stock car race with no mashups....
Muth is a concussion away from missing multiple games. What does he have now? Three? Also there was a play where Muth caught the ball on 3rd down and short and all he had to do was mow over a CB and he was stopped short. I question his physicality at times.

See how Howard meets the challenge. He can cement his spot on the roster with a good half of football.

People said that last year about the concussions. I dont see Washington being a bigger part of the passing game than Muth.

It certainly looks like Rodgers won't play at all this pre-season like he hasn't the last nine years. That 30-35 snaps that McCarthy said a few weeks ago must just of been something he threw out there to the reporters.

Maybe the injuries by the top 2 WR have changed the plan?

That and the poor play from our tackles might have had something to do with it.

No Mason, that is exactly what I expected. They have seen everything they need to see to keep Mason on as the Backup QB.

I think Will Howard would have had a better chance of making the 53-man roster if Mason had to play this week. Mason playing would mean the coaches were still having some doubts as to who the backup QB was going to be. Mason Standing on the sideline with Rodgers pretty much means the team has already picked their backup QB.

NOW, Any news on the starting RBs this game? I am hoping it is NOT Travis Homer again.

Muth also had the second fewest touches of his career last year. Fewer hits, maybe they were protecting him? The QB didn't even know why he wasn't getting snaps:

After the loss, Rodgers admitted to the media that he is just as confused as the fans are about why Freiermuth is not more involved. That admission only adds another layer of frustration to a season that ended in a way Steelers fans have come to know all too well. "Yeah, I don't know," Rodgers said while speaking about Freiermuth's lack of involvement. "I do not have a good answer for that."

I think Washington's new physique should earn him more touches than last season.

Once DK is suspended for the year for going up into the booth and assaulting a media member for something he said four years ago, they will most certainly double team Pitman which will leave Germie open for business!

Nah, that was Arthur Smith, he was known for doing that sort of thing in Atlanta. Jonnu Smith was his guy.

Muth is a much better receiving threat than Washington. If they don’t feature Muth this year, that will go down as one of the worst contracts.

They did the same thing with Landry. There was no reason to see him play so they focused on Dobbs who showed enough to take the job from him.

IMO, this is Howards job to lose. If he stinks the place out, they’ll keep Rudolph, if he plays like he did last week, he is probably the BU.

They had Justin Jefferson mic'd up during the Vikings game on Saturday and he came right out and said it. Thats why you'll never see me play in a preseason game the rest of my career.

Do not understand the mentality of a coach playing a player cause 'he's my guy' when the player is obviously inferior to what is on the bench. Seems the shortest way to being fired.

I am assuming you did not hear Mike McCarthy's interview today where he announced the Starters for Friday, and went into detail about Mason Rudolph's future with the team.

This video shows clips of McCarthy's interview this morning.

Dulac reporting that the Steelers are interested in bringing Mason back in 2027, so don't be surprised if Mason signs an extension before the season starts.

Everybody knew Jonnu sucked except for Arthur, fans and media kept talking how Muth was underutilized last season.

Except he has a history of doing that. Also Jonnu balled out in Miami. Clearly Smith didnt do as good a job with him.

I heard it. I had this same argument with different people back when they were all telling me Landry would be the BU. Even Ed Buchetti which I corrected when he confidently predicted Landry would win that job, I said you mean Dobbs.

Merrill Hoge was on WDVE this morning explaining why you don’t need to beat the crap out of each other to still practice tackling

What he said made a lot of sense

No reason to go into the season already hurting
