Bubble players that Stood Out in preseason Game 1:

NFL preseason stock watch: Which roster bubble players stood out in Week 1? - The Athletic

    Doneiko Slaughter, CB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Slaughter was an undrafted free agent in 2025. He spent camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season before being waived on cutdown day. In January, he signed a futures contract with the Steelers. He was a standout in the Steelers’ 28-9 preseason win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday. Slaughter can play both outside and at nickel, but he fits better defending the slot. He has a feisty play style and demeanor. Slaughter showed a quick trigger on routes in front of him, including on a third-down stop on a screen in the first quarter. Slaughter got called for unnecessary roughness in the second quarter after he retaliated along the sideline. That’s something to clean up. But still, he’s an interesting potential piece for any team in need of corner depth.

Goes back to what I said.

Adjustment period. The baseline traits and fundamentals are there for Troy. The acclimation period is what is going to be the current road block.

Will be some time before he finally settles in.

I brought him up during the game because of him playing for the Razorbacks
