Rumor has it Porter Jr. wants 30 a year and will sob if he doesn't get it. The Steelers are holding out. Possible play it out then franchise him next season and work out a deal.

During the 2025 NFL regular season, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Keeanu Benton played in all 17 games (17 starts), recording 51 total tackles (25 solo), 5.5 sacks, 12 quarterback hits, 6 tackles for loss, 1 pass defensed, and 1 forced fumble.

Out with the old and in with the new. I like the signing as well as Patrick Graham recognizing that he is a DE/DT.

It could be a good signing since he will not be longer a full time nose tackle.I expect he will be much better this season because of that

For Porter Jr,they have enough money if they want to sign him.The Steelers can restructure some contracts, and the cap hit isn't going to be huge this year, so I'm not worried.

One of the reasons it's taking so long with Porter Jr. is that the cornerbacks on the Seahawks and Patriots, who were drafted in the same class that him, haven't had contract extensions yet, so the market isn't clear at that position. Of course, Porter won't have the same contract as them, but the question is how much less he'll get, which is why he doesn't have an extension right now.

We probably have to wait for the Seahawks and Patriots to see how things develop.

    Yes

This is close to a swap cap wise

Cam comes off the books and this contract goes on

He will be a starter next year and paid accordingly

I need to look at the GM Positions that could be available but I do know that Weidl is going to be in high demand this time around. Pittsburgh has gotten lucky the previous two off-season. I don't think that continues in 2027.

I hope to be wrong though.

The signing is probably more for the future of the DL, once Heyward retires then they have Benton and Harmon at DT/DE with Black at NT.

I wouldn't worry about the cap the Steelers still aren't paying for a franchise QB, and the cap will continue to go up Benton is coming off of his best season.

This doesn’t make sense. I would have let Benton walk. Yes he is decent but he is t a great run stopper. Porter should have been the priority.

Samuel had spinal fusion surgery. Due to a car accident I was in earlier this year, I've had a surgeon recommend this for me, so I have been learning about it. I'm still seeking additional opinions, but I can't imagine trying to play football after such a procedure.

Dean is 29 with some history of trouble staying healthy.

Everette years of tape of him of him getting beaten a lot in college, so it's a little too early to get excited over him.

Porter is a stud cover guy right now, the type the Steelers haven't had in a while. Letting him walk while underperforming players like Benton get big money is a huge mistake.

I would rather it not be a projection this far into his career if they are going to give him that sort of money.

I like it when posters are willing to lie about what others said on the board and contradict themselves in foolish posts just so they can say they got me to respond. I can always use a good chuckle.
