The odds aren't in McCarthy's favor of finding and developing a QB

I'll be honest, I didn't see enough of Penn State's games to be able to speak from direct experience but it seems to me that Franklins use of Allar was poor. We have all heard about Allar's poor footwork/mechanics, is it common for a big time college coaches to just let a guy play the way he wants? And God knows how much a QB can change when going from college to the NFL.

Garrett was an offensive HC, so he gets credit for developing Dak. Cowher wasn't teaching Ben QB play big difference .

I’m a PS fan and watch the games

Just my option but he did not react well under pressure or in big games

Nothing worse than obnoxious signature pics cluttering up the message board.

Then why are you trying to give Cowher credit for Ben he was a game manager back then anyway .

All the more reason that Allar or Howard not seeing any time and continuing to improve is paramount. Adding in anyone else is going to nullify their progress. Ideally one would want either or to work out while focusing elsewhere in 2027 but that is a ways away from happening.

2027 thus far appears to be a wash anyways at this current time. You already know my thoughts about both Sayin and Carr. Jayden Maiava is the wildcard but for him, he needs to tame that big ass arm of his.

If he can do that?! Dude is as good as a lock for a First Round Pick.

Can you imagine how difficult the site would become if every member did that?

All things that can be fixed and already have improved but what you cant do is give a QB elite arm talent that can make every throw on the filed and rather effortlessly at that.

Drafting BU QBs is something that happens on day 3, not day 2.

Because you cant teach the physical, you have it or you dont.

His own college coach said he wasnt put in a good position to succeed and plenty of other people have said the same thing, that offense did not play to his strengths.

Cowher had the foresight and vision to hire Whisenhunt as OC, after Mularkey went off to be a HC for Bills. Capers, Haslett, Gailey... all of those coordinators went on to be HCs. How many OCs after Arians got HC jobs after working for Tomlin? DCs? :lolol:

Note: Whisenhunt coached the Cardinals to SBXLIII. If it weren't for herculean efforts from James Harrison, Ben Roethlisberger and Santonio Holmes.... Cardinals win that game.

Fortunately most members are not challenged

Just wait until the first game thread and the first fumble or broken play etc and they will crawl out of the big litter box to post doom and gloom

I go check out opposing sites like the Browns just to see what their fans think

Some of those boards are so bad two sentences barely make a page

    This is a good board

A little pat on the back for @TerribleTowelFlying@TerribleTowelFlying

    That's the Browns fans mentality.

A bad play = we suck, we're done!

A good play = we are gong to the Super Bowl baby!

    ....

I see we are equivocating intangibles based on positional talent vs intangibles based on athletic capabilities... again....

Oh no he's a offense genius that has to use other HCs Qbs over the actual one he picked. LoL

I tried explaining this stuff to people when I 1st got on this board, and was laughed at, and told the NFL has never had this much talent at the Qb position.

He keeps repeating this because in his short time of watching football its the only down year he can remember.
Many of the rest of us have seen losing seasons where we didn't go to the SB two years later.

Someone has to play. If they benched every bad Qb there wouldn't be enough Qbs to play games.
