    Huh

The average NFL offense runs 60-70 plays in a game times 3 games is about 195 plays +/-

    Rodgers takes 35

Who do you think is taking the other 160

    Hint it’s the youngsters

I really don't need to see Rodgers or Rudolph taking the first team reps, I want to see how the two young guys play with the first team not just with the scrubs.

That certainly is a surprise. Definitely a break from the past regime who never would have considered it. I bet it's been a long time since Rodgers took a snap in a pre-season game.

And people laughed at me when I said Rodgers will play at least 1-1/2 quarters in the 3 preseason games. I stated this in another thread and was scoffed at.

    Huh?
Rodgers hasn't played but one time I can remember in the preseason since 2018 and that was I believe for one drive so....any is a different thing for him, and any takes away from 3 Qbs we still have besides him.
Anything else you'd like to add??

Well when Rodgers has played ,but one time in the preseason since 2018 most would think he wouldn't. The last time he played a preseason game , the very next game he tore his Achilles.

I’m thinking it’s because it’s a new offense with new players and a reshuffled OL

They don’t want to walk into the first game huddle and have to introduce themselves

I think that was the first game of regular season for Jets in 2023. It was MNF game.

Still, I think first team reps should go to Howard and Allar. Rodgers doesn't need to play, IMO.

I think we'll also give Mason 20-35. So still a bunch of snaps, but not as many.

Also...I really hope we can run somewhere around an average number of offensive plays this year!

It is kind of hard to find good work for 4 QBs. Which is one of the reasons I like what I'm hearing about how MM runs practice with different groups doing similar things on different fields.

My guess is this means that our 3rd and 4th QBs are getting more work this camp than when we had Oladokun as our 4th QB...IIRC, I think he took very few reps in camp per Alex K. Who would chart every team rep from the QBs. But I don't think he can do this now because it sounds like we're doing team reps on two fields with different groups.

Seems like a great way to make the most out of the very limited practice time NFL teams get IMO.

OL best be ready for work:

"The Packers held Practice No.7 on August 6th, and the session was closed to the fans. However, Mike Spofford of Packers.com detailed how the first-team offense and Jordan Love spent the day facing a heavy array of blitzes to test their protection communication."

I think it makes sense to play a lot of starters in the first game. It's a way to get them to play some real football and get some reps in for the coaches to see.

They get to work on some things after their performance and watching film on how they played.

If a starter gets banged up, they are likely going to be ready to go for the regular season if it isn't a major injury.

There's always a risk when starters play when the game doesn't count in the standings, but it helps them get ready to play and be their best when the games that count begin.

I agree with this, but not 42 year old Qbs, especially when you have 3 other Qbs in the team, and 2 you have never seen film of against another NFL team

So are you thinking a team with an entirely new offense, several new players, 4 of 5 OL in new positions should wait until the games count to play together as a unit and just see how things go?

Yes, that makes sense to me.
