Remember Renaldo Nehemiah? He was one of the few track stars that made it to the NFL. Played 3 years for 49ers... until some dude named Jerry Rice was drafted in '86. He went back to track after that.

 

The most famous was Bob Hayes who won the 1964 gold medal in the 100 meter (or maybe it was still yards then) dash. Then became a HOF WR for the Cowboys. Hayes however was a football player first who just happened to be the world's fastest human at that time.

 

Al Davis collected track athletes like they were candy.

 

Football like many contact sports look easy to the armchair guy, and then you step in the ring, or out on the field , and everything you thought you could do gets forgotten when the hits start.
Then a lot of know it alls use the opossum technique, or the crayfish/crawfish technique.

 

Dumb. 90%+ of the Steelers fans who post here are "armchair guys" who never played a down of football after High School.
