No,that's not what we were talking about... we were talking about a unit's stats, like offense or defense, not both at the same time... The Lions were 4th in PPG on offense last year, but they didn't make the playoffs.

Only a fool or a stubborn like crazy can't understand that

They need to break the tie this season. That's not too much to ask.

No we were talking about D, and as everyone knows when You are wrong, you move the conversation instead of just saying you are wrong.

No way is that bottom list 0, now with the awesome Qbs, and genius HCs some have told me they have.

Of course I don't. Its hard to understand an argument when some people insist on changing the subject instead of admitting wrong. I will leave this argument to whoever still cares

I'm new here and I admit I didn't read all 40 pages but for me, expectations are sky-high! There is a reason to be excited for the first time in a long time. We can now watch a game knowing that it's possible to win a playoff game.

Until we get a franchise QB, NE is a step ahead of us in the quest for 7.

It’s possible Maye falls apart but I doubt it, I’ve felt all along he was going to be a great QB.

I put money saying they wouldn't make the playoffs this year.

Yeah this is not impossible....In the last few years, young QB who have a big year, they have a down year after that, like Stroud and Daniels

There are some things set up for that to happen like the Vrabel fiasco and how that affects the team.

I dont think so though, Mayes continues to improve and is one of the best deep ball passers, I see a big year for AJ Brown coming.

Im not basing it all on Mayes, though I am a bit, because the NFL will really be studying him now, but mostly on the HC, and the rest of the team.

There's a ton of wildcards. I can just as easily make a coherent argument for 11-6 and a playoff win as I could make an argument for them going 6-11. 9-8/10-6 seem to make the most sense. It boils down to whether or not Aaron's play falls off a cliff. If he manages games well enough, this team can compete.

If you remember last season Rodgers faded pretty bad in the last month of the season. Another year older probably won't make him better.

There are a few things which could work against them.

    The affair
People will have figured him out a bit
    The Bills might be better

I tend to agree. That doesn't mean he can't play better, I just doubt that he will. His play boils down to his health and the oline. I think we got lucky regarding his health last season.

It was more in the middle of the season against the colts, bengals, chargers and bills he was awful....His last month,he was good against the ravens(x 2)dolphins and lions. He was of course awful vs browns and in the playoffs game vs texans.

The biggest problem for Rodgers last year and the years before was against playoffs caliber team

I’m not certain of the timeline but that stretch was probably during his injury.

Comparing % passing by down on offense from 2021-2024 (horizontal lines are NFL averages). Included PIT 2025 for comparison. Notice the jump in early passing with Rodgers in 2025. Finally getting to about NFL average.

Expect MM offense to be around average % passing on early downs, so maybe the offense looks similar to last season.

The run-pass ratio on the first down is one thing, my biggest frustration was on the second down and 10 for the steelers. Too often, it was a run for a short gain, a checkdown, or a pass in the flat for a short gain, etc., which automatically put us in the third down and at 8 or something.

It was just a awful offense.

And the rest of the AFCN got unlucky with their QBs last season. And it still took a wide right kick for the Steelers to make the postseason.

We can really do a glass half full, glass half empty with 2025/2026. The overriding positive for me is the rise of youth on this team. It will be fun to see who the new leaders will be on the team. If they can be coached up then there is no reason to believe the Steelers can't be in the mix once they find their QB.
