And you really can't judge anything by his few backup stats anywhere else either.

That brought back a nightmare of a memory. I believe it was a night game against the Pats. Waited all day for it. Right from the start Brady threw quick passes one after the other. We were on our heels 2 minutes into the game

It's a good topic. Took a stab at looking at pass attempts under center vs shotgun (I don't have plays specifically labeled "Play Action" and I think the definition can vary depending on the website).

This is five years of games. Left axis = UC-Shotgun Yards Gained/Attempt (blue bars); right axis is total air yards passing under center (red line).

While not perfect, the air yards under center explain a lot about the poor UC passing. Too much dinking and not enough throws down field. Is this because of a janky OL maybe?

sure,because he would not been able to be on pace for 5000 passing yards and 33 TD like Winston even with the supporting cast Winston had in 2019

But the problem that Winston had in Tampa Bay had nothing to do with Arians.He is maybe the dumbest QB in NFL history,before or after 2019
