At the ASB your Pittsburgh Pirates stand at 50-47. 3 games over .500 which is amazing for them at this point of the season. This is a team minus two big guns and they ain't coming back anytime soon:( The damn NLC just had to be strong this season. Only 1 team under .500. The Reds. Hell, in the ALC and the ALW we'd be the first place team. Right now we are 2 games back in the Wildcard race. I do enjoy all my Phillie friends taking notice.

Now it's a rough start after the break. We are on the road in Cleveland and NYY. Will be very interested what Bobby boy does by August 3rd. I bet he has his calculator charging up as we speak. Be nice to strengthen our pitching staff. We had better relievers and no injuries to Cruz and Konnor this team would have one of the best records in NL. If Nutbag makes moves to save money I will burn down PNC.

    LETS GO BUCS!!!!!!

This is the Pirates best record at All Star Break since 2016
    Nice sweep of the BrewCrew
    BP did their job
    Hopefully adding
    Harrington
    And
    Kelly
Makes a difference in 2 half of the season
    Kicking the can with Santana
Hoping he regains last years composure
    Talk was DFA him
    But
    That’s all it was
    Talk
    Edit
Kelly had a rough go of it today giving up 3 runs

Between the control issues that the bullpen and starters have going on and the unforced errors being made on the defensive side make for some edge of your seat moments. Everytime I see an outfielder try to muscle it from the outfield to homeplate and it goes wild I cringe.

To me the biggest problem is the BP
If they can improve this team will make the playoffs
Never ever in my years watching the Pirates have i ever felt as nervous or not confident about the BP
A 10 run lead is not safe with these jokers
    SP
    Agreed with excessive walks
But at the same time I feel a lot more confident with our SP than the BP
I wonder as a SP that it’s in their head no matter what lead they have that the BP will blow it?
Thus leading SP to try and do more
Thus not having proper ball control
    As far as fielding
Been shakey to say the least
    Ask Skenes
    Ask some of the BP
    Soto in particular
If plays were made, would’ve made it out of the inning
Plus a win instead of a loss
I am just going to try and enjoy the ride
And not get too emotionally attached
Hopefully the bats stay hot and the pitching and defense catches up
    Go Bucs!

    Raise it!
    Magic # 38
    Need to go
    38-27 after the break
    Not easy
    But
    It’s possible

Updated stats after weekend sweep of Brewers. Only bad O stat is strikeouts. Rest are outstanding. And this is all of MLB, not just the NL. Wow! Is Matt Hague really to credit? Losing Marin as pitching coach seems like a bigger loss than predicted.

OK - what would have really been impressive would have been if Miskowaski (sp?) had pitched and with the same result. Probably not but fun to pretend.

The Pittsburgh Pirates hit 117 home runs during the 2025 Major League Baseball regular season. This total placed them at the bottom of the league, finishing 30th in MLB team home run statistics

The 2026 stats will (should) keep climbing when Cruz, Horwitz and eventually Griffin return. Hoping Valdez is the real deal and not a factor of not enough film out on him yet. Cruz hitting lefties so well this year really added to the current stats. Also hope having several good hitting vets around will keep things moving after the break, a time when the summer swoon usually hits the Bucs hard.

    I am excited
Hopefully we can get pitching onboard
    If so
Will be an exciting second half of the season
    125 dingers halfway through
    Unreal

Here’s another pitcher that will not have longevity unless he learns other pitches other than 105mph fastballs

When I seen score I immediately went to the box score to see if it was Miz pitching!

Good luck Bucs in second half (or last 65 games). Keep us interested.

50-47 right now. 35-30 last 65 gets them to 85 wins. Not sure if it will be enough to make WC.

Bucs game tonight in Cleveland smoked out from Canadian Bacon fires and cancelled. They have a double header scheduled for tomorrow but who knows if the air will be any better. I hate this whole week delay and now this. Funny that no other eastern games were or are planned to be cancelled today. That's Cleveland for ya.

My childhood smelt like rotten eggs. I had an Uncle whose job was cleaning the mortar that held brick houses together. Those Mills were nasty.

Game 2 doesn't start until 7:10. I don't know how that works anymore. Do people at first game just hang around that long??

Last DH I went to was at Forbes Field. We beat the Cubs both games and I took a piece of chair for memory sake. Last games at Forbes.

BUCS!!!!!!!!!! 51-47 at the moment. In the American League we'd be a top team. Frigging NLC we are a 4th place team. Our pitching comes around we will be heard from.

    BUCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See you at 7:00
