Tomlin was a very good coach for a long time, but after the playoff loss to the Jaguars in 2017 and the late-season collapse in 2018, it was time, and it would have been normal after 12 years with the same team.

The problem isn't Tomlin's fault, but rather Rooney's; he kept him for too long. Sometimes, after so many years, it's time for a change, similar to Andy Reid in Philly, and it was beneficial for both of them afterward.

I actually respect Tomlin for making the decision to leave; otherwise, Rooney would have stayed with him forever.

Looks like on page 5 I was responding to STD, not sure if the server was busy churning CPU at the time, but it appears it attached my response to yours instead of STD's

Fans were calling that forever, Rooney was never going to part ways with him.

For the first time in years Im excited about an upcoming season again. Not because McCarthy is some amazing coach that can’t fail but because this organization desperately needed change.

So, thank you for that Mike T.
