    Backs on Backers I believe.

That was another one I am curious about as far as it's status. It was a Tomlin staple. Not certain about McCarthy.

Slamming the previous HC without slamming the previous HC. Where this detail should show up most is where the previous HC had a serious weakness, 1st quarter of play, slow starts. Looking forward to an offense that can score on the first drive.... and a defense that can get a stop on the first possession.

This is what gives me hope with Howard and Allar. Probably more so with Allar since McCarthy handpicked him.

OK. The team with the most points always wins, and the team with the most yards only win a little over half the time. Hmmm:hmm:
This doesn't take rocket science to figure.

Show me a team with a new HC that doesn't say this stuff year after year.
The Jets players, and reporters were raving about how much better the coaching was last year. They went on to lose more game than the previous year. Its all fluff now. We shall see, and I pray we are way better

Again 30 - 40 percent of games in the history of the NFL are lost by the team with the most yards, and in the history of the NFL all the teams with the most points always win. To even argue yards are more important than points is crazy

So,around 65% of the time a team have more yards win the game.More you have yards, the more chance you can score.Hard to score 30 points with 200 yards on offense. You need several turnovers by your defense and great special team to score 30 points with so few yards and when this is the case it don't mean the offense had a good game

Since the 2023 season, the steelers were 17-4 when they had more yards that the opponents

This is the type of stuff that I am referencing when I talk about quarterbacks not being coached properly. People tend to think that most of the talk about quarterback whisperers is witchcraft and bull****. It is not. I played the position, and I can tell you from experience that it is possible to go through a significant number of years and coaches while thinking you know the game well and how to play quarterback before learning from and playing for a coach that was able to transform how you prepare, see, and play the game of football from the quarterback position.

The quarterback position is all about understanding. There is so much information you have to process quickly, but before you get to that point you have to understand how the whole thing works, understand what you are seeing, and understand the answers to the problems the defense is giving you so you know and understand why you have to make that next step mentally. Understanding what defenses are trying to do to you helps a quarterback know exactly where to go with the football to try to exploit something.

When things get very complicated and everything feels like it's happening at 100 mph, it is easy to feel lost and confused about what to do, but if an offensive coach is able to reach you and get you to see the chessboard the way they see it, everything can change about how you think and play the game. If you understand....the game slows down and allows you to execute better.

Some coaches just know how to make it all make sense and not just tell you...but explain it in a way that ties everything together and makes it understandable. It doesn't mean that everyone is going to be a star NFL quarterback with great coaching. It just means that there are coaches out there that are just better at this stuff and have a way of making each quarterback the best version of themselves with the God-given talent they have.

Everyone has a ceiling. It's just who can get each quarterback to his ceiling in the offense he is playing in.

Gannon fit the West Coast system, so that always helps. He learned to use his athleticism by blending it into his quarterback progression system. It all just clicked for him.

Let's hope the same can happen for Howard and Allar so we get to see the best version of each.

Again. Geez why is this so hard??
30- 40 percent of the time in the history of the NFL the team with the most yards loses. 100% of the time in the history of the NFL the teams with the most points win.
Its not hard. Do you want something that kills you 30- 40 percent of the time, or something that never kills you. If you choose never kills you then You are arguing to just argue.

You should know that the defense can score a TD or put your offense in great field position to score.Same for the special teams....We all know that the teams who score the most points win but for evaluating a unit, offense or defense, sometimes a defense that puts you in great field position can inflate the number of points you score... That's our point.

For a defense, when your offense can't move the ball and they're a turnover machine, the PPG will be ugly because of that, and it's out of your control. Just look at the Browns since 2023; they're the perfect example.

Again, the Steelers are 17-4 since 2023 when they have more yards than their opponent. This is over 80% of the time for them!

    I talk about a unit,defense or offense

You should know, sometimes you can win by scoring only 13 points and losing by scoring 30 points the week after

McCarthy's work with Quarterbacks is a huge positive, especially for a team that has yet to find the long term replacement of their previous franchise QB. Even if the team doesn't go far in the playoffs, it still establishes an offensive system that Allar, Howard, or even a Rookie QB from next year's draft can eventually be productive.

Agreed. Everyone in the world will be wasting their time trying to convince me something (yards) that only wins 60- 70% of time , over points that wins 100% of the time is more important. LoL
Only a fool, or someone that can't admit they are wrong would pick something that is 60- 70 percent chance of winning over 100%.

Winner , I was going to say that, but i felt if what I already explained was going over their heads, then why bother .
Only a fool, someone that can't admit they are wrong, or someone that just wants to argue would pick something that wins 60-70% of the time over something that wins 100% of the time. LoL
