i think they need to use a FB. The FB will know how to block and doesnt have to handle the ball as much.

At the end of the day, Rodgers is still a 42 year old QB that will be 43 before the season ends.

That doesnt mean he has nothing to offer. He still has the arm plus there is nothing a defense can throw at him that will fool him and he demands everyone knows what they are doing when they suit up for that game. Im positive this is why Wilson wasnt playing last year. Rodgers even made a vet like Thielen nervous.

And hence this is why it is highly likely Germie Bernard will be limited early on

I expect the same level of play as last year from Rodgers maybe even better.

Worried is more like it. I would have been happier with Eddie coming back and Ramon going from Assistant O-Line coach in Dallas to Assistant RB coach in Pittsburgh.

Experience has to count for something and Ramon has no experience at holding or catching a football at any level

don't you think he speaks to mike mccarthy before coaching them? really? don't you think the head coach oversees the whole team process before it's installed?:smiley1::cool:

I don’t believe they expect Ramon to hold or catch a ball during a game

    We are safe

I like how the Vipers and Cylon Raiders moved how they would actually move in the vacuum of space in the 00's version. 70's SCI FI spaceships usually moved like airplanes and jets. It was funny how George Lucas modeled the Tie Fighter attack on the Millenium Falcon and the X-Wing/Y-Wing rebel attack on the Death Star after WWII aircraft movement. :lolol:

My guess is that Roman Wilson got this lesson last year.

    I think so too.

Especially if we run 12 with PF in the slot. I think that Scout's Eye was just going through some stuff on Muth and apparently last year he was the among the most efficient TEs from the slot.

I think that 12 should be our "base" offense. I think it puts our best "skill players" on the field. And gives us the most flexibility. Line up with both TEs in tight or split out. I'd expect the majority of these snaps to have Muth in the slot and Washington in-line, but it means the D has to think about what we could do.

I worry that we're going to mostly run 11 and downshift Washington's usage.

Surely not with just signing Washington.

    I really hope not.

But Muth was one of the higher paid TEs last year (by AAV in the contract) and we used him as a TE3.

Washington's AAV is lower than Muth's despite being signed years later.

So I really, really hope we design around 12 and we don't shaft Washington re: usage.

But (1) I think it "plays against type" for McCarthy (who i think has historically run 11 as his "base") and (2) we did it to Muth last year even though he was being paid more than Washington is this year.

I think the good news for Washington is that Rodgers seems to really like him (at least that's the sense I got last year). And my guess it that there will be a lot of "what Aaron wants, Aaron gets" going on...at least if we keep the season on the rails.

Agreed, and I think this was why Muth seen less last year, Rodgers wants Washington on the field.

I agree with this, and Rodgers wanted Washington, and therefore it left Muth as the odd man, but Jonnu is gone now. So we shall see

I have commented about this before, but I never understood why they had to get rid of all the original female characters? Athena, Serina, Cassiopeia, and Sheba were amazing on the original.

    upload_2026-7-8_16-29-14.jpeg

I have always wanted one of the fans to ask Ronald Moore why he axed every female character from the original. It would be like watching Star Trek with no Uhura or nurse Chapel.

That is a really good point. I was kind of bummed there was no Athena or Sheba in the remake. I think they just did some character consolidation to keep cast salary down. I do like the cast/characters of the original series better. I liked the dark, desperate tone of remake, the visuals were fabulous, notably in the pilot and first season.

Speaking of Star Trek, not all remakes are for the better. I hated and despised the JJ Abrams remakes of Star Trek, turning them into brainless action movies with zero plot logic, which led to whole Alex Kurtzman/ Secret Hideout corruption of Star Trek.

Now lets hope the 'remake' of the Steelers offense is good enough to deal with these AFC Cylons. :)

we need rodgers to distribute the ball in a timely fashion to the guys that make plays. no more no less. the players around him make the plays and are the weapons. no other QB in the league well maybe a couple but doubtful know the game better. that's my take. he doesn't have to be super man. get the ball to the right guys and it should flow well.

They need to protect him and give him time so plays can develop. Steelers were last or near the bottom in ADT. Hard to win consistently when most of your passes are 2 yards.
